Publisher's Summary

Her scent tells me she's my mate. Her blood calls to me...

Carly is everything a Valkredian leader needs: stubborn, outspoken, and her body is temptation incarnate. She’s meant to be sold off at auction, but I’ll allow no one else to touch her. Her scent tells me she’s my mate, and her blood calls to me. But a Valkredian prince must always be in control, and giving into her pulsing veins will cost more than my sanity.

I will protect the mate I’ve claimed and the people I rule. If a traitor wants to try me, I will bring down all of my wrath to make them pay.

I’m no one’s blood slave...

I never expected to wake up on a space station with a red collar around my throat. But when Akzun claims me for himself, I know I’m in a whole other kind of trouble. He’s as strong as they come, a leader of his people, and a man who makes me yearn. He wants my body and my blood, and I don’t know how I’m supposed to resist. I don’t know if I want to.

But when treachery on his planet puts us at risk, we’ll need to work together to stop a war. And the longer I’m at his side and in his bed, the clearer it becomes that I was made for him.

I don’t know how to be the mate of an alien vampire, but I’m going to have to learn if I want to see another sunset.

Narrator is bad for Male voice!

Pretty good, took a while to get through, this one I could put down. Had they two narrators boy and girl, I think it would have been better. To me the man on the front would have very deep and stern voice, she portrayed him a soft spoken alien.

Her Alien Warrior Prince

What an interesting take on an alien romance. A winged alien? I liked the story but felt like it was an insta love and the book was completely rushed! Other than that it was an overall good story.

Entertaining alien romance

If you’ve ever read an alien romance you know that it’s pretty insta love/ insta mate ish... and that’s what this is. Everything happens very fast and I got a little frustrated with the heroine for forgiving the hero so quickly but that’s kind of what you get with alien romances so eh. The story line was kind of flat.. the characters weren’t anything special but it was still entertaining.

I enjoyed it

This is my first exposure to the SciFi Romance genre, and I really enjoyed it. Winged space vampires! Cool! My only complaint with the story was that Akzun’s adviser Torqua got away with far too much insubordination. I really don’t find it credible that she could get away with openly mocking and criticizing her Blood Ruler the way she did. I was impressed with the narrator. Melanie Hastings was able to create lots of unique voices to differentiate the characters, and I thought she had a really good guy voice. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. Lots of humor and adventure throughout!

Fab Sci-fi Romance

Her Alien Warrior Prince, the first book in the Warriors of Valkred series, is an engaging sci-fi romance. The plot is rich, and it captures the attention from the very start. The storyline is charged with war, betrayal, passion, and steam. The central Alien species are the Valkred, they are basically winged vampires, who experience blood lust. The characters are well-developed with great back-stories. Akzun, the Valkred ruler, he purchases Carly, a human from a slaver as a blood slave. However, he decides to have a mate rather than a slave.

The narration by Melanie Hastings is superb. She does a great job portraying the characters' personalities and emotions. My only complaint is that her male voices are not deep enough; otherwise, the inflexions were good. Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook quite a bit, and look forward to the next instalment.
