When you cheat the devil, there’s hell to pay....
Wren, Shrike, and Lark Rose are three very special siblings with one unusual calling. Raised by a father gifted with the ability to sense impending death, his visions allowed them to save people’s lives. But they never imagined meddling with fate would have horrific consequences....
In Hellbound, the siblings unearth a terrifying secret: Those who were meant to die have become hosts for demonic spirits. Shocked by the devastation brought by these sinister forces, the three vow to put an end to this evil reign once and for all....
In Claws of Death, the siblings struggle to free a peaceful seaside town from the demonic grip of evil. But they may already be too late. Multiple mysterious deaths haunt the streets. Something sinister lurks in the shadows—a presence the children know all too well....
And in Hellfire, the trio join forces with a coven of modern witches, a retired police officer, and a sympathetic FBI agent, as they struggle to purge the ultimate evil from a secluded mountain resort. But will their combined forces be enough to hold off the supernatural onslaught looming on the horizon?
Scare Street is proud to present the complete Hellbound Series Bonus Edition. Three chilling novels of supernatural terror, plus exclusive bonus content from horror author Sara Clancy.

I am not sure what it was in the story that made it so difficult for me to get just to chapter 3. It took me three or four attempts over a period of three weeks to get through Book 1. Once I managed to overcome whatever my issues were, Books 2 and 3 went fairly smoothly and quickly.
So, this is a series about two sisters and a brother with the surname of Rose. Their father Joe, had a affinity to birds and named his offspring after, what I presume, his favorite birds. Strike, who is like an Amazon warrior, she’s the “muscle” of the trio. (Every time I heard her name, I really thought her name was ‘Shrek’ and then I would think of Donkey and an Ogre, and have to restart the book all over again). Next in line is Wren, he is the brother, and he is the ‘intellectual’. The sisters look to him for directions when they don’t know what to do (kind of like Freddie from Scooby Doo sans the ascot, Daphne, and the Mystery Machine). The last sibling is Lark-she is the youngest and is the pretty one. The three siblings are in their 30’s, with Lark’s age stated being 34. The mother is mentioned very little, and I wondered a lot during the first book - did she not have any say in the names of her kids? I also found the progeny acting younger than being in their 30’s. I could see maybe early to mid 20’s?
So Joe has this special “talent” of knowing when someone is going to die. He and the children go all over the country saving one poor soul to another, saving that person from almost certain death, well that is, until after one “save”, Joe is savagely killed by one of the people he “saved”.
This leaves Strike, Wren and Lark “orphaned”. And when they go to visit the perpetrator who killed their father, they find out that all the people they saved, really shouldn’t have been saved after all. These people were earmarked for demon possession!
So, the premise was good. The main characters were likable. The demons were interesting, and Clancy added some additional elements to the stories that were darker as you read through each book.
As I mentioned earlier, I did have some hang-ups getting into the first book. It could be that the siblings’s loss of their father echoed that of the loss of my own father, who made his celestial transition last year, of which I am still grieving. It could be the bird names-Wren and Lark I can accept, but Strike took a lot for me to get accustomed to.
I am a huge Scare Street fan. There are a lot of creative minds who write some very interesting stories, and Sara Clancy has some good stories out there. I always say the narrator will make or break the outcome of an audiobook and John Pirhalla does good job with his voice changes.
If I were to rate this series, I would rate it - 6/10. Interesting premise, I feel Clancy could do more with the storyline, especially a prequel relating to characters in Book 3. Would I read this series again? Probably, but not anytime soon.
