Spencer Hayes is a man of practicality, purpose, and innovation, but he lacks the financial backing to make his dreams a reality. When he contacts his childhood friend, Andrew Wooding, about a promising business venture, he is happy to be invited to Briarwall Estate to discuss the terms. Once there, he is surprised to find that Andrew’s shy, younger sister, Lydia, has grown into a young woman of beauty, wit, and a bit of fire. Even better, the two share a passion for motor cars.

Torn between his dream for the future and pursuing a relationship with a passionate, free-spirited woman intent on creating her own future, Spencer must figure out how to protect his head and his heart from Lydia who is determined to live life to the fullest—and change the world in the process.

Charming & funny

I enjoyed this book very much! The author’s clever wit made me chuckle many times and outright laugh several more. While the story itself isn’t exactly groundbreaking — although, in fairness, nearly every book in this genre is predictable but that’s what makes them cozy — the author does a great job of infusing a freshness with humor and sharp banter throughout. The characters are relatable and make you feel as though you would like to know them in real life. A fun, light read. I can’t wait for the 2nd installment.

Great story, excellent narration

This was a very enjoyable story with lots of good story lines and some angst (good balance). Justine Eyre is one of my favorite narrators. I look forward to the next book!

It takes a minute to get into, but it’s well worth the effort. Refreshing, fun, and enjoyable!

Wonderful Cozy Romance

It was well written and read. I can’t wait for another book.
I listed as Cozy as it was a clean story. No curse words or sex descriptions.
