Publisher's summary

Camille Ellis has tracked many killers during her career, but this time it's personal. Cut off from conclave resources, she won't let a small thing like a suspension keep her from accepting Cord Graeson's offer of help.

Pretending to be mated to him is one way to secure allies, but the best that can be said of the Chandler Pack is they haven't killed or eaten her. Yet. Between the alpha's displeasure and the pack's distrust of fae, she's working overtime to keep her head above water.

Just when the fur starts to fly, a tip cracks her case - and her life - wide open.

Story moves forward, Cam gains power

This is the second book in the three-part story of Cam. It ends with a cliffhanger so be prepared to move on to book 3. The overall storyline makes good progression with Cam and Cord defining the relationship and Cam's closest family members being introduced. The story takes place on or near Cord's pack territory. Cam is on paid leave and trying to find Harlow. Cord is going to help but pack politics keep getting in the way. There is a lot of growth in Cam's character. Her power is growing and she is coming to terms with her relationship with Cord. A part of the mystery is solved but it leaves you with more questions. Also, there is a cliffhanger at the end. I was bummed to see Cam injured after all the focus on her changing powers. Narrator did a great job.

🌻Am enjoying it now!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Update, I restarted this trilogy a fourth time and after the introduction of the plot, characters and the characters’ supernatural gifts, I started to really get into the book. Be aware that this is a trilogy and book one and two do end in cliffhangers. If you acquired this book through the “ included” section, you’ll be happy to know the entire trilogy is included in this section.

I feel I must address another reader’s review that compared this book to the writings of penthouse. She must be referring to a different book because neither book one or two contains any sex, sexual references or even dirty talk🙁!

What this trilogy has been is a supernatural, paranormal crime book with a slow burn romance, on the side. The Hero, Heroine and their friends, are on a hunt for a kidnapper and killer of young girls. There are some disturbing descriptions of the state of the bodies but, the author definitely hasn’t gone overboard. I’m glad I tried this book again.

ZOMG... Horrible Performed!!

So it's hard to even get interested in the book let alone want to continue listening!
So robotic at times it's painful with weird pauses... she wouldn't be so bad if she would keep a nice flow and be a little less robotic....
the performance is pretty underwhelming to be sure.

Better once you realize it is an ongoing series

The bad guy (creature) is pursued through books 1,2 and now 3... Other loose ends are tied, it's better once you know what to expect.

Entertaining

Good storyline that kept me listening the entire audiobook. Interesting characters that are likable. A couple of different issues going on that kept the story enthralling. The story ends on a hook. The narrator did a great job!

Fun listen

I enjoyed listening to this. There wasn’t a lot of depth to the reading, but it was quick paced and fun.

Reset

Cam is a Gemini fae. Cord is a worg. They should not be a match. Do Cam fights tooth and claw? Why is she taking on so many worg attributes? What ever, they have a serial killer who is holding flipper hostage. She is determined to get her back.

Very good

I liked this book a little less than the previous one but it's still good. I think I needed more from Grayson and sometimes the story felt too long. There were also times when it was difficult to know if Cam was thinking or speaking. The story was still mostly enjoyable.

While listening and hearing a few familiar names (Enzo and Miguel) and knowing what they were I realised I have already read at least part 1 of Dell's story a few years ago. This has gotten me even more excited about this series as I remember loving Dell's story and wanting to know more. I don't much care about the accent the narrator has adopted for Dell so it will be a bit of a challenge to listen to it but my interest in the story is enough that I hope I can manage.

Story seems better than first book

Love story gets better, but feel like there isn't as much storyline in this book, but towards the end leave it open for a betyer 3rd book hopefully

Head Above Water

The love story grows, but there is so much pack bitterness that you wonder if it can last. Still struggling to help her friend, and not sure if she is only making thing worse. Read brilliantly again by Stephanie Einstein.

Intriguing storyline but jumpy...

The premis of the story is interesting, but missing bits and jumps around which makes it hard to follow.

Still very enjoyable

I am still very much enjoying this story, particularly the development of Alice and her wolf form. But i really don't like her cousin, he's always putting her down, making her feel weak and useless when clearly she is far from weak, at that point she had already torn the throat out of the rival wolf when she first arrived on pack land. otherwise it continues to be a sustaining story and one i definitely recommend though it did take me a bit to warm up to the main male character as he was shown to be an arse to Alice, using her and her grief.
