Faith and God’s Providence

It does not focus on explicit details of life in the prison or work camps. Rather on his growth in faith and in God’s providence while he lived in there. He also talks about the people he lived with and ministered to. It’s an inspiring book.

One of the very best spiritual reading books

Fr. Walter Ciszek is a saint (and one day may indeed be canonized). This book is profoundly moving and also instructive in how to live the Christian life well. I really think that outside of scripture, this is one of the very best books to read for your soul, and probably the best that was originally written in English. I highly recommend it!

Faith and resilience

There wasn’t anything I did not like about this book. It was so moving. It taught me that you have to trust in God for every moment of your life even during the worst moments. When you read his story, you can’t help but tear up through some moments and get the chills and smile during others. You realize that we can take for granted how easy and available it is to go to mass and receive the Eucharist, yet so many do not. So many willing to risk their lives for it.
