Engaging charming witty writing with endearing characters and a most excellent narrator exhibiting wide range of voices
Hazards in Hampshire by Emma Dakin (aka Marion Crook) is the first of what i hope will be a lengthy series of books by this author about the character Claire Barkley.
This story is Engaging, charming, and witty. The self actualized main character shares wise and compassionate observations throughout her narrative. Claire is kind, intelligent, thoughtful and a strong person. She is confident, determined and not easily influenced. The writing fully develops several very endearing characters and engages the reader - listener in the yearning for more adventures to share time with them.
Bianca Amato is a most excellent narrator, with a beautiful tonally modulated voice of quality to listen to. She skillfully exhibits a wide range of voices w accurate and varied accent representations.
Looking forward to more adventures w Claire and Gulliver (cuddly canine side kick). I would love to join you both on your next cozy mystery tour, or walk, in the English countryside.
Audible, please do publish the next in this series when it is available.

Absolutely ASININE!!!
Silly storyline, main character frequently musing on her large inheritance, long, weird, inconsequential meanderings, E.g. Claire's trip to the bank to invest in an annuity. Beyond awful.

Listened to with gritted teeth.
A nice storyline but padded out with trivia. At times it was more like a tourist guide to the area with gardening tips, bird identification and dog training thrown in.
Absolutely hated the terribly upper class English accent and the American pronunciation of some of the words. e.g. Diedre, pronounced as Dierdrah not the usual Diedree.
I am not tempted to read the rest of the series

Hazards in Hampshire is an enjoyable cozy mystery with engaging characters. I love when writers mention other cozy mystery books in their books. I also like that tour didn't take over the plot. There are severas l things to like about this series. I look forward to the next book.

Wooden story
The narrator did her best with this story and it almost saved it. Unreal situations eg the detective getting involved with a suspect. The flow was jerky; some improbable situations occurred and long-winded details about irrelevant things made it tiresome.

Very enjoyable book
I was really enjoying the book. It is written in a good old English cozy mystery style! The narrator could do better job.
