"Rose Pressey's books are fun!" - Janet Evanovich

It's time for this vintage fashion expert to put on her detective hat....

As the owner of It's Vintage, Y'All in Sugar Creek, Georgia, Cookie Chanel has agreed to share her expertise with author Juliana McDaniel. But on her way to town, Juliana is shot dead, and that was all she wrote. Cookie picks up the thread of the story with help from her psychic cat and a couple of inquisitive ghosts. To unmask this killer, she'll have to lift the lid on family secrets and hidden motives - because she might wind up getting capped herself if she doesn't cloche this case....

Series is getting more lame.

I was disappointed with this story. There was an amazing amount of repetition in the dialogue. (e.g. "She's always like that.") The story could have really built along the established premise but the author took it nowhere. I'm done with this series. I think the three stars I gave was generous.

Disappointing

The lack of continuity in these books is increaingly irritating as the serries goes on.

This is the worst so far - things that have already been seen by, heard by, witnessed by, or explained to characters are repeated as if they're new occurances. For example, at one point three characters all express surprise that a suspect knows another suspect, despite them already having found his name and 'phone number on a note in her house... This book is full of such glaring continuity errors. Which just makes for an irritating (rather than entertaining) listen.

Honestly, I'd have to say that the narrators talents are wasted on such a badly written book.
