Publisher's Summary

He ruined my life.

Now he really wants to screw me.

Justin Hayes was my best friend up until the day he broke my heart and disappeared.

When I find out he’s my new boss, I’m about to leave with my middle fingers held high. Instead, I stop dead in my tracks as soon as he steps into my office.

Justin’s all grown up, and he’s even more gorgeous than I remembered. He was always handsome but now he’s the kind of man I really want to… get to know.

But it doesn’t matter. I despise him.

He says he wants to work together very, very closely, but I can’t let him anywhere near me. I’m afraid I might slap him right before I kiss his soft, full lips.

He says he remembers everything we went through, and he wants to make it right.

I think he just wants to taste the one girl that got away.

I don’t know what to do. This is my dream job and “quitter” isn’t in my vocabulary, but the sight of Justin makes me want to run my nails down his bare back, nice and rough.

I hate my new boss.

But I want him so badly it hurts.

Hating My New Boss is a super steamy, over the top, hate to love office romance with adult themes and lots of laughs. It’s only for listeners 18+.

Hating My New Boss is a full length standalone novel. No cliffhanger. Guaranteed HEA!

Steamy!

Remi has fought tooth and nail to be the next in line to take over as the new Creative Director at an ad agency. But instead of moving into a new office, she gets a new boss, and he’s the last person she ever wanted to see. A war between two families forced her and her former best friend Justin apart and he poured salt in the wound on his way out of her life. Yet he got the job she wanted and her hate flows more freely than ever before.

Justin only got the job because his big shot dad put his two cents in, but being the boss is always fun, especially when you get to be in control of someone from your past. It’s no secret Remi despises him, but he strikes a deal to bring her to his side. And as they work together to woo a major client, it’ll take more than a raise and some creative control to get her to listen…especially when the line between business and pleasure becomes seriously blurred.

As always, Meghan Kelly has given life to a cast of varied characters without making them sound like cartoons. There’s the dippy client with her far out tone, Remi’s firm voice that often shows her hidden weakness, and Justine’s sultry baritone. As you listen, it’s very easy to stay on track with who is who without having to rewind. I think that’s what makes Kelly successful in her field. She toes the fine line between giving each character a distinct sound and making them each a caricature, and she does it beautifully.

And then there’s the thing where the last Kelly audiobook I listened to was a sweet, Christian romance that took place on a ranch. It’s wild how she can go from sweet to spicy without a hitch. That’s real talent.

Now, for the story. Okay, so Justin must have a magic cock. Demi is spitting venom, but the moment he whips it out, she loses all self worth and just gets down on her knees and lets him do whatever he wants. I’m all for BDSM relations, but this was on par with the Fifty Shades issues of trust and mutual respect. When the surprise “butt stuff” first happened, she hadn’t even forgiven him yet for how he once treated her.

Outside that, it was a great plot then went seamlessly from the big city to underground Hawaii without a beat. The history behind Justin and Remi’s relationship is deep and complicated. It couldn’t be washed away with just an apology and more than one conversation had to happen before the pair could even begin to settle thing between them. I liked Remi at once and wanted to kick Justin right out of that office. But when you get to know Justin, you’ll see that under the protective layer he’s been forced to take, he might just surprise you.

Love to Hate You

We have all had that kind of relationship where we wish we could go back and do things over. When Remi's boss gets let go and a her new boss is introduced to her, she literally cannot help but feel the hatred welling inside. It just so happened to be her old friend from grade school, Justin Hayes, who absolved their friendship when she needed him most. The pain that she is experiencing again by him coming back into her life is something that she is having a challenging time dealing with and when Blair, the owner of a VR empire wants them to work on a project to revamp her business and flies them out to Hawaii to say at her "compound". Sparks (good and bad) start to ignite and refuels the energy that both of them feel.

Meghan Kelly did a fantastic job with her narration! I love the innocence of Remi and as well as Meghan being able to voice the strangeness of Blair and the manliness of Justin.....such great talenT

Hot and steamy love/hate relationship

Passed over for a promotion Reno is forced to work for her childhood best friend who abandoned and betrayed her after his father betrayed her father costing her family millions in a business deal

Remi and Jason’s story as they learn to work together, heal the wounds of the past as Jason reveals the truth of what happened is a passionate turmoil of a love/hate relationship of getting past the past to starting a new. it’s off the chart hot and steamy and had me blushing a few times.

This is my first B.B. Hamel book, it is very well written with developed characters that had me captivated from the very beginning

I think this is my favorite Meagan Kelly performance. She brought the emotion of the characters out so perfectly. She moves through the characters with such expertise. She had me cracking up as the Australian, sorry don’t remember his name and brought Blair’s bizarreness out like a pro.

Definitely recommend

friends to enemies to lovers

Remi’s life took a dramatic turn in her early teens...her father lost his job when his partner tricked him, and she lost her best friend. Justin’s dad went on to a lucrative career while Remi’s dad struggled with depression. 10 years later and Remi has worked hard to get where she is at her job at an ad agency and believes that she will be promoted to the vacant executive position...except the job is given to non other than her former best friend, Justin. Even though Justin has worked hard, he was given the job at the ad agency as a favor to his father. The large account that he has brought with him is that of a virtual reality company. Now this is where the story gets interesting...the owner of the VR company, Blair, is a straaaange lady...well she wants to be a rat! Anyhoo, Blair knows the back story of Remi and Justin’s dads and she wants them to work together on her campaign. Justin has never gotten over losing his best friend, Remi, but as a young teen with an abusive father, he didn’t have any choice but to stop communicating with her. Now he has to work closely with, and manage, the beautiful Remi to produce a successful campaign. Can Remi forgive Justin and work with him? Can these former friends turned enemies, become more? This is a quick story mainly about forgiveness and moving forward. Liked that Justin wasn’t the typical playboy...he was a great guy. Enjoyed the interactions with that strange Blair...had me LOLing! Worth the read-listen. Great narration...really brings out the weird in Blair's character...lol.
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

Remi and Justin!

Remi and Justin were best friends until his father not only told him that they couldn’t be friends anymore, but he also cheated her father in a business deal. When her boss is fired not only wasn’t she chosen for the position, but Justin is now her boss.

At a client’s request they were required to work together on a project and the feelings that they had for each other as children returned stronger than ever. Will Remi be able to overcome the hurts of the past so that they can have a second chance?

Full of heat and drama these two are perfect together but first they must overcome some obstacles standing in their way. I thought the narrator did a great job of bringing both the characters to life.

Old friends turned enemies

I really enjoyed this tale of childhood friends turned enemies. Can they admit to their true feelings and find their way past their own misconceptions. Can Justin have a chance at redemption. Also who needs dual narration when you have Meghan Kelly as your narrator. She does an exceptional job with both the male and female voices.

Virtual reality book that is a interesting read

This is a very good book with amazing narration by Megan Kelly. Trigger warning it does talk about childhood abuse, but it does not go into detail. The story is about to childhood friends that get torn apart due to their parents hate for each other. In the end he becomes her boss. In order to get a big advertising client they have to work together. While they were working together they find out that they truly do love each other.

QUITE THE ADVENTURE. 👍

Very interesting story with lots of shocks and emotional turmoil for Remy, and that's all on the first morning.
Meghan Kelly's narration upholds the underlying strength of character this young woman shows throughout the book. She manages to match the voices to the other characters so it's obvious and flows seamlessly.
There are entertaining clients, challenges and stepping out of their comfort zones to contend with.
And of course, as it a part of the Hate/ Love series the are titillating sex/love scenes. 💝

Great book!

Great book! The main characters were both strong and likable. The author has given this plot more depth by having them know each other as kids. It also has some fantastic steam scenes lol The narrator did a fantastic job of keeping the story on a good pace. She also did a great job with the voices! Really enjoyed her performance. All in all, this audiobook was definitely 5 stars!

Hidden kinky side

So, there’s some hidden kink in these two. Which caught me off guard. Vanilla style office romance...wait, what did she say she wanted!? And right back to Vanilla style story. The narrator is amazing! The storyline itself is kinda wonky, but you still have an enjoyable listen. 🎧 AudiobookObsession

Good book..

I really enjoyed this book.. I really liked this story about Remi and Justin... but I do have to say that Remi was absolutely horrible the entire book. I understand her being mad at Justin, but he was a kid at the time. She was over the top grade A "B".. She treated Justin horrible until about at %85 of the book. For her to blame Justin for everything that went wrong in her life and not realize that he was a kid and it was all his dad was selfish on her part... I really did like this book, I just spent most of it wanting to shake Remi.. ugh
Meghan Kelly did a good job on the narration

Hating my new boss

I thought this was an ok story. An enemies to lovers, 2nd chance romance storyline which could have been fleshed out a bit more. This book was more annoying than angsty. I don't like when the cause of the unease or conflict can be resolved with a good conversation but is dragged out longer than necessary.

I totally enjoyed the narrator/narration. She made this story for me.

Office Romance - Enemies to Lovers

Hating My New Boss by B. B. Hamel is a hate to love office romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Meghan Kelly. This is the first book of B.B. Hamel's that I have read and look forward to reading or listening to more books from her in the future. Meghan did a great job narrating with the different voices she used for the multiple characters. I can't wait to discover more books that she has narrated. I liked that the book switched between Justin and Remy points of views so you could really get into each of their heads. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves office romances, second chance romances, or enemies to lovers.

Loved it!

This is my first B.B. Hamel book but it won't be my last. I expected the typical hate to love office romance but this one had a rather unique storyline that I wasn't expecting. The characters were interesting and the sex was pretty hot. Meghan Kelly did a great job bringing this story to life.

Loved it and highly recommend this book!

Entertaining story with good narration

I liked this story and from the description it was the sort of thing I would usually read. The characters were interesting and had thoughtful and capturing back stories that helped you feel invested in them early in the story. The sexy bits were ok if a bit corse for me, I prefer a bit more emotional connection and inner dialogue. The narration was good with easily definable voices for all the different characters which is important when you are trying to differentiate between them. Overall this was a fun and entertaining story, I would've liked a bit more fleshing out of the story and romance parts.
