This Story Is Sexy

Publisher's Summary

It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now it's full-blown hate. It was during my first football game that I felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I'd never experienced something so cold and empty before. The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone. Becoming a couple, becoming the other half of a campus celebrity, wasn't easy.

I let down the walls guarding my heart, and he looked past my glasses and accident-prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it. And we're happy. Zach doesn't want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He's going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me. As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone's life, and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened. I can't help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

Just Why

The only thing I could think for the entirely of the climactic scene was that Romeo deserved to lose his NFL career for sheer stupidity. What kind of bleeding moron gets both himself and his girlfriend possibly dead by barging in alone after he already knew a psychopath was with her? The entire situation could have been averted or lessened had he not been that idiotic. It really ruined a lot of it for me.

Great book

This is a good book. I had a smile most of the tome and I got mad as well because of certain characters and the circumstances they were in. I hope it all gets resolved. I need to get the next audio pronto.

cliff hanger

We continue with the romance between Rimmel and Romeo. They are still so much in love, but now their love is tested by anothers hatred.
By they are also helped by the loyalty of their friends; Braeden even declares Rimmel his official little sister.

I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because though I loved the story, I sincerely HATE cliff hangers. Luckily for me I am coming to this series late, so I dove straight into book 3, but I would have been straight up pissed if I had to wait.
Several very key plot points were left unresolved (we will see if they are dealt with in 3), and again, I dont like that. But it bugs me so much because I am swept away by the story -- which is why I mention it, but didnt deduct points for it.

Why 3 stars on the story?

I will not give any spoilers so my comments are intentionally vague.

2 major issues.
1. Rimmel gets angry about something that anyone with common sense would immediately do; and
2. Rimmel, a 4.0 student cannot put 2 + 2 together towards the end of the story regarding a mysterious event. I found myself practically banging my head into my steering wheel.

The storyline itself is good and the characters come to life as they did in the first book. Listening to the next book now.

Still Enjoying the Series

The story continues where the other one left off. This one gets more into the developing relationships between Romeo and Rimmel and the developing friendships with Rimmel and Braden. If you like the college/new adult books you should like this one.

#still good

Would you consider the audio edition of #Hater to be better than the print version?

I still am not a fan of the female narrators voice especially when she does romeos voice it's to breath and lazy almost like a California surfer dude doesn't match the amazing voice that the male narrator does

Don't Be A #Hater - Read This Book.

{Begin with book one.} This second book in the hashtag series picks up right where book one ended. It picks up in intensity and now has me hooked into the series. If you like New Adult romance, definitely try this series. The characters' lives are far from the normal college student which makes the entire series far from the normal new adult romance that sometimes is starting to feel a bit overdone. This series is a stand out so far.

WHO IS THE ALPHA BUZZ DUDE!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so we don't know who it is in this book either!!!!! Don't worry, there is more books to read to find out. I don't have a clue as to who it is. Chandra, honey, the story is really really good you gotta get into it more. The story is actually better than you give it credit. Ok, so that may have been too harsh, sorry. But, you sound bored to death. It may just be you, cuz I know it's not me. Ok, so here we go again with Zach, the psycho. Psychos around the world are staring me down for putting Zach in with their gang. Ok, so no gang of psychos that I know of. But, man is he really mentally challenged and we haven't just came to it yet? or.....Ok if you don't know either. I really don't know what to say about him, hater was such a nice word for him. Wait, is this a paranormal book and he becomes the DEVIL!!!????? Ok, so no on that one too. At first, Rim and Romeo are getting along swimmingly (no pun there), when Zach the psycho decides he wasn't done playing with his food yet, before nap time. He stalks Rimmel in the shower and photos her naked with him. His reason? He wants Romeo to be off his game in the championship! WHAT A DOUCHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will Romeo find out before the game? Who knows you gotta read to find out for yourself. In the end, you find out that there is more to Zach's game than you thought.

Seriously I need a Braeden in my life that guy is the freaking bomb! He is the perfect best friend and honorary brother.

Romeo and Rimmel go through a lot in this book but they come out stronger.

I kinda love how Romeo loves, once he is in he is allllll in and that’s the best kind of romance books if you ask me.

Zach is totally freaking crazy! I can’t tell you how hard I swooned over Romeo that fella is one strong guy.

I lovvvvvvvved the narration! As you can probably guess from all my gushing about Therese Plummer she is just fantastic, what can I say I know what I like. Rimmel’s family is a head shaker.

I really like the male narrator! He is bringing this book to life. The female.. hmm I like her for the most part, it’s just a few words here and there she says and it grates on me a little.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Narration better than #Nerd

I had a really hard time with the female narrator in book one, but she was better in this one! Phew! Still never going to be a favourite, but no weird robotic sound, and not quite as slow.
