It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now it's full-blown hate. It was during my first football game that I felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I'd never experienced something so cold and empty before. The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone. Becoming a couple, becoming the other half of a campus celebrity, wasn't easy.
I let down the walls guarding my heart, and he looked past my glasses and accident-prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it. And we're happy. Zach doesn't want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He's going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me. As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone's life, and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened. I can't help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

Love this series.

I am not sure if the narration was actually better in this one or if I was just used to Chandra Skyye at this point because I made it through without any problems! There were still times when I noticed her talking more in a robotic tone (especially for the mom) but it didn't phase me as much.
better than the first!

Would you consider the audio edition of #Hater to be better than the print version?
I still am not a fan of the female narrators voice especially when she does romeos voice it's to breath and lazy almost like a California surfer dude doesn't match the amazing voice that the male narrator does#still good

Would you consider the audio edition of #Hater to be better than the print version?
Probably. The narrators, especially Eric, add a layer of depth to the story.Who was your favorite character and why?
Romeo. I like his development and that he's Alpha without being too controlling. There's nothing about their relationship that feels toxic or worrisome (unlike some of the adult romance books that featuring controlling Alpha males). Though, I do appreciate Rimmel's character development, too.Which character – as performed by Chandra Skyye and Eric Michael Summerer – was your favorite?
Romeo. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yup. I've listened to it more than once since it came out.Any additional comments?
Again, Alpha Buzzfeed status updates FTW.#Romeo&Rimmel4Eva

#HATER is an emotional lightning strike of a story, exploring what happens when true love is caught in the crossfire of pure, unwarranted malice. This is why I have listened to this masterpiece multiple times—it's a compulsive, raw experience driven by the pain inflicted on the heroine, Rimmel.
The emotional core of the book revolves around the brutal injustice Rimmel faces: the plagiarism accusation by her professor. That betrayal is a raw, enduring wound that sets the stage for everything that follows. The professor's absolute certainty in his judgment—how sure he was that he was right—is a failure of mentorship and trust. Over the years, this has fueled a passionate conviction that Rimmel was owed a powerful, public apology from that professor.
Her turmoil is intensified by Zack, the senior at Alpha University who embodies the titular #Hater. His irrational, deep-seated hatred for Romeo spills over, making Rimmel a target by association and magnifying her isolation.
Amidst this darkness shines the unwavering heart of the hero, Romeo. He loves Rimmel completely and unconditionally. Their bond is the refuge from the cruelty of the outside world and the foundation for the ultimate fight for her truth and her happiness.
This book doesn't just ask you to read a story; it asks you to fight for Rimmel. It is a thrilling, gritty journey toward justice where the stakes are reputation, love, and emotional survival. I keep returning to this audiobook because I need to witness their epic love triumph over the sheer malice of the #Hater and the lingering shadow of her unjust past.
🎧 Audio Narration Critique
For a story fueled by such intense emotional stakes and clarity of character—the pure hatred of Zack versus the absolute devotion of Romeo—the narration is vital. The voice acting for #HATER must expertly channel the distinct emotional extremes.
The ideal narrator captures the dark, cutting malice of the Hater while lending the hero, Romeo, a voice that is both authoritative and full of deep, genuine warmth for Rimmel. Crucially, the narrator's portrayal of Rimmel must convey her quiet vulnerability under the weight of injustice, balanced with her courage to find solace in Romeo's love. This seamless transition between intense confrontation and intimate devotion is what makes the audiobook a captivating and highly repeatable listening experience.
Rimmel's Devastation...Unwavering Love of Romeo

2 major issues.
1. Rimmel gets angry about something that anyone with common sense would immediately do; and
2. Rimmel, a 4.0 student cannot put 2 + 2 together towards the end of the story regarding a mysterious event. I found myself practically banging my head into my steering wheel.
The storyline itself is good and the characters come to life as they did in the first book. Listening to the next book now.
Why 3 stars on the story?
