Publisher's Summary

Jon Reznick has never played by the rules, a trait that has brought him into conflict with FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein in the past. But now Meyerstein has been taken by a shadowy gang, and the renegade black-ops specialist may be her only hope for rescue.

The FBI are reluctant to let Reznick anywhere near the case, but he's not in the habit of seeking their permission - especially once his covert investigation leads him straight to the head of the Russian Mob. And it soon becomes clear that it's not only Meyerstein who's in danger: her abduction is just the start of a campaign to undermine American law and order.

With Meyerstein's whereabouts unknown, and the CIA and FBI seemingly operating at cross-purposes, it falls to Reznick to go it alone. Can he get to Meyerstein before the mob get to him?

Great Series

This is another excellent thriller in the Jon Reznick series. I listened to all four consecutively and am sorry I hit the end.
The protagonist in this book is a very believable character. With all the action and scenarios in each of these books there is never a dull moment. The book are only about 6 hours with the first being about 8 hours. This author doesn't use any extra words , no fillers to lengthen the books so they are basically nonstop action from beginning to end.
If you have kindle unlimited books 2,3 and 4 have FREE Audible narration included.
Jeffrey Kafer does an outstanding job narrating.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the entire series.

Not the best

The story seems like it was strain more of an afterthought than a good idea. I don't know what the authors infatuation with the f word is, but true professionals do not speak like this. I bet if you get a word count, you can probably take a hundred words out of this book if you remove them all. the way he keeps repeating himself, adding extra descriptives and needless information, it seems like he was aiming for a longer page count with anything.

Another 5 star winner from J. B. Turner!

The publisher's summary is simply perfect at setting up Hard Way, so I will not repeat any of that info. Hard Way is the 4th novel in the John Reznick thriller series. Reznick is an ex-Delta Force officer who sometimes works a a contract employee for the FBI. He is a individual risk taker who does not fit well in the FBI culture.

I'm amazed at the amount of action, suspense and vivid character development author Turner can pack in a 6 hour novel. There are no throwaway paragraphs, or sentences, or even words. The narration by Jeffrey Kafer is outstanding. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this action and suspense filled novel and this series.

Waaaaaaaay too much profanity

I converse with a diverse group of people throughout the day, every day and NO ONE I know has the limited vocabulary of Mr Turners characters. I’d it’s not f-this it’s f-ing that or m-f on every page it seems like. MR TURNER ... PLEASE either broaden your vocabulary or allow your characters to broaden theirs. The story’s are SUPER but the profanity. Especially the f-word used so FREQUENTLY is RIDICULOUS.

Good story

This book and the others I’ve read or listened to by Turner, is very entertaining My only dislike is adding in ‘partisan ‘ comments at times. EXAMPLE; why ‘Fox News’ and not just ‘News’?

Just TOO Much

Reznick has gone too far. Some of the previous stories are far-fetched but you could still see it, etc. This one made me not like the character any longer. Too angry, too self-righteous, too disrespectful, too many chance with the lives of the general public, just too much. In general as well how the subsequent characters were introduced and the twist and turns happened in a way that was hard to keep straight who was who and what side they were on. I listened until the end just to see that they got the Assistant Director back but it was all muddled at that point. Suffice it to say, this is the end of the road for me and this series.......

A good old fashioned thriller

This series of Jon Reznick's adventures is now becoming my guilty secret pleasure over the summer. It takes a while to suspend all your disbelief that only one man can save the world rather than the entire FBI/CIA/DEA/Police etc with all their manpower, specialized equipment and resources. But when you can achieve that you are in an adult sized boy's own adventure. You know the story by the first few pages and the good guys are going to ultimately win after coming over significant adversary. Just go with the flow and enjoy y

A good story line

The narration of the book Hard Way was pleasant to the ear, the tone even and cosiest. I also liked the story which was captivating and exiting without being too far fetched. All in all, a worthwhile listen to while away a lazy Sunday afternoon.
