story line was good

I liked that the author kept my interest, thanks. Will read more of his books later

Reznick at his Best

I love Jon and look forward to his books! He has such a sense of morality and what is acceptable and just for the underdogs out there. This story is based on the injustice of what his Delta buddy went through before he was killed. The murder had been swept under the rug because for a time his friend was an alcoholic and an addict. The time of his death he had been sober and clean performance and was in search of his daughter who was only 16. She had gotten caught up in trying to make it in Hollywood. I director who is old enough to be her father took advantage of her and many other minors for his own perverted pleasures. Reznick persistence and determination help solve his friends murder and save his daughter's life.. Lots of action, don't miss it!

Jeffrey Kafer is excellent in the roll of Jon Reznick

Another very entertaining head-knocking, butt-kicking, bullet-dodging adventure with the almost Superman of truth, justice, and the American way, Jon Reznick. Book 14 of the Jon Reznick Thriller series by author J.B. Turner is everything you love about the series. If you are a newbie, just remember, Jon can not fly!
OK, enough about Reznick. In Book 14, "Hard Lights," Jon uncovers a sinister group of wealthy individuals that have let their money and wicked desires exceed all boundaries of decency. Sex, drugs, and cold, bloodied killings go hand in hand in their world. The brutal death of a former Delta Force buddy and his missing daughter set the stage for an all-out war with these sleaze bags. You do not want to miss reading 'Hard Lights' by J.B. Turner. There is an excellent audible book performed by the very familiar voice of Jeffrey Kafer that I highly recommend. -Mr.Bill

Good entry in the series

While on vacation, Reznick is contacted by the LAPD with the news that an old comrade has been murdered. The circumstances make it quite clear that this was no random street crime, even though the comrade has been living rough.

When Reznick arrives, he is (typically) shown little or no courtesy by the investigating officers, who are (typically) not spending any noticeable effort on the torture murder of a street person.

Unsurprisingly, there are many things going on, and much evil is hidden in the parlors of the wealthy of Los Angeles.

All of which sounds like the recipe for a deeply mediocre thriller.

This is better than that. There are several new interesting characters, the old characters are back to something more like their original personalities and skillsets, and the plot makes more sense than the last couple of books. And the book has a satisfying (if unreasonable) ending.

This is definitely popcorn suspense, of the egregious power fantasy style. But it's done well. There's not much point in saying more for book 14 of a series, but for whatever it's worth, this is recommended.

I like everything it was a very interesting and keep me entertained. I really like this author.
