Publisher's Summary

Tricia Miles must swim against the tide to catch a killer when Haven't Got a Clue's assistant manager is accused of murder in the latest entry to Lorna Barrett's New York Times best-selling Booktown series.

Haven't Got a Clue bookshop owner Tricia Miles' relationship is on the rocks. After a not-so-fun vacation with her on-again-off-again lover, Marshall Cambridge, Tricia's hoping for smooth sailing back in Stoneham. Unfortunately Booktown greets her not with blue skies, but with another body.

When Tricia's assistant manager, Pixie, finds homeless vet Susan Morris' body behind Haven't Got a Clue, Pixie's checkered past makes her the prime suspect. Tricia sets out to clear Pixie's name armed with only an anchor insignia earring found at the scene of the crime.

As Tricia digs deeper, she discovers Susan was involved in a scandal right before retiring from the Navy - but since nobody in the village knows Susan, even Tricia's one lead is in danger of drying up. With family drama brewing in the background and all of Stoneham convinced her manager is a murderer, Tricia knows she has to get to the bottom of the case soon before Pixie's life is sunk.

YUCK - Narrator doesn’t work for the characters

I have enjoyed this series until they changed the narrator. They really should’ve stayed with Karen White or someone who reviewed the previous works to continue the characters personalities in the last book and this one. But since this wasn’t done, the series has has ended for me. I returned this book and won’t be continuing this series.

Average story, not a good performance

Very disappointed that the narrator changed her voices for several characters, like, Pixie and Grant Baker. It was a bit confusing and didn’t make the story flow for me. She left a cliffhanger for book 15! I’m considering starting the series over. I liked the first 5-8 books a lot better.

Intriguing Read

I've waited for months to read this story and I wasn't disappointed. There were many twists and turns. I also love how social issues were addressed. My one critique is to change the narrator. No offense but she just doesn't do it for me. Please bring the original narrator back. This one ruins the characters voices.

Weak story

I’ve always struggled to like Tricia-the main character in the series but the other characters and the good mysteries made you for it. The narrator brought Tricia to life in all of her condescending, whiny and snobbish glory. Will not do another audiobook with this series.

Oh just shoot me now

I have this entire series and have noticed a very depressing trend. Tricia's character has become depressing. So much so that I felt like I needed anti depression medication just listening to this book. Sorry, but I can watch the news and get depressed for free. It's really too bad you can't let this poor woman have a little happiness. Sorry but this is the last one for me.

AWESOME

This is the best yet in a highly entertaining cozy mystery series. I love these characters and can't wait to see what happens next.
