Deceptively sweet.

Hm … opens up with a 16 year-old having just unal!ved someone via multiple st4bs to the k!dney and letting her brother take the fall. Playing loose with plausibility again but, I’ve learned to roll with it for Karland’s MC reads—it tends to pay off.

Trafficking.
He’s a v!rg!n.
She’s also a v!rg!n.

This one packed a few little twists, so it’s even sweeter than it seems on the surface.
A quick, fun listen.

Excellent

I liked that Gunnar was at peace with his decision to take the fall for his sister and go to prison. A more common reaction would be resentment and anger, but Gunnar has it taped out. He rescues Pippa from traffickers at her father’s, his cellie, request. He leaves Bones MC because his older brothers, who are Prez and VP, are being d-bags about him bringing trouble in the form of Pippa to their club. And he heads to Kiss of Death. Thus a new series is born. I enjoyed this book and thought that Gunnar and Pippa were made for each other.

So good

You absolutely outdid yourself at the story I love the storyline, the characters the beginning the end I love the dynamics of the fathers and the back spy type of story. I love it. Can’t wait for the next one.

Great Start!

I've listened to several books by this author, and I think this was my favorite so far. I'm excited to see what the rest of the series brings. Gunnar went to jail to protect someone he loves. When he gets out of jail the first thing he's supposed to do is rescue Pippa. The fact that Gunnar and Pippa are perfect for each other and only met because her dad needed a favor was kismet. Entertaining and quick listen!

Orchestrated HEA

Cane and Knuckles are amazing dad's and unassuming puppeteer for Gunner and Pippa. Gunner is a protective alpha that was immediately recognized by his dad, Cane, and Knuckles knew would be perfect for his daughter.

As always Uma makes the story come alive with emotions and intrigue.

Excellent story!

Gunnar has spent years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. He was there when his sister murdered her assaulter and he took the fall. In prison, he made friends with Knuckles and their friendship was strong enough that when Gunnar was freed, Knuckles asked him to find and protect his daughter. Pippa feels guilty for what her brother was willing to do to save her, but she understands once Gunnar reveals his connection to her father. This is an emotionally engrossing story and it's obvious how quickly and thoroughly they form a connection, much to the chagrin of Knuckles. He told Gunnar to protect her, not to fall in love with her. The narration by Umi Markkanen is, once again, top notch. Her clear, dynamic voice with just the right pacing and emotion deftly bring this story to life. 

Good Start

I enjoyed this story, I do love how the series are all intertwined and there were some twists and turns I wasn't expecting with this one,that being said I normally like the shorter stories and always feel like the story was complete but with this one I just felt some stuff wasn't quite resolved completely, hopefully that was intentional and perhaps part of an over alll story line, otherwise it was a good story with great narration.

Pippa and Gunnar

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. Uma Markkanen is one of my favorite narrators. She petforms male and female voices beautifully. Lots of feels. 5+ stars for her.

Book 1 in a new MC series. Two broken, lovely people need each other. They fight thru their pasts and make it work together.
