This is a short Novella about Lilly Peters who was a doctor by day and an escort by night. She was on her own at a very young age and had to put herself through medical school, but when her grandmother took ill, she needed money for her care. She had heard through the hospital intern grapevine about being an escort for very rich influential men and jumped at the chance. What she didn't know was how much she would enjoy having sex for money. She liked her men to give her gifts...and guess what? They did!

Everything was going at an easy pace when some of the other escorts were roughed up pretty bad, and no one seemed to know why. By this time she had changed her lifestyle from second-rate to first-rate. She loved her luxurious condo and outstanding wardrobe and the fact that she could pay all her bills and still have money in the bank. She was financially secure, but very unhappy.

As things got worse and one of her favorite lovers was murdered she had to make a choice. Would she go back to her dream of becoming a great doctor or choose having sex for money? You will be surprised by her decision because she was!

Despite not being a lover of this genre, I really enjoyed this book. I loved the main character and I found it really interesting how she enjoys both of her professions (escorting and medicine) and the dichotomy between the two. I enjoyed the mystery involved in this novel and I liked the ending.

Enjoyable

While predictable, great story

I felt like the story was a little disjointed, the first half of the book was decent, but the last half seamed like details about Lilly were thrown in or added at the last minute. I realize that it's a short story but it was to short for they way the characters backgrounds were developed. Also the narration brought it down a little for me, at times it was difficult to tell which person was talking.

It was just OK.

I really enjoyed this short story. It is so unbelievable in the premise, of a doctor being a call girl. The story moved along well and had some surprising twists. I liked the suspense that was in the book. Far from reality but a great listen is the best way to sum up this book. Far from reality, but a great listen!

I do not usually like to read short novella length works. When I buy a book, I want “more for my buck!” But this was a short, steamy listen. It is so difficult to give enough background for full characterization in a short novella, but the main character was reasonably fleshed out.

The story was pretty far from reality, and the blackmail, murder mystery element seemed to come out of nowhere. The second half seemed harder to track. The ending was quite unbelievable. It seemed a reasonable story while I was listening, but after the fact, I find I cannot remember it much. I guess maybe I should stick to novel length stories!

The narration was fine.

This book was given to me free for an honest review. Thank you.
