Publisher's summary

A grump who lost his family....

After a devastating loss, Malcolm Niall has spent the past 20 years hiding from the world. As manager of a Highland estate, he's built a life of purpose, caring for the land and animals. And for the past six months, his peace has been utterly destroyed by a sexy Southern whirlwind who's never met a stranger. Worse, they have to work together daily.

His sunshiny nemesis who's starting a new life

Nothing about Charlotte Vasquez's life has been traditional. She never married, abandoned her corporate job to raise the son of her late best friend, and now she's followed that grown-up son to Scotland for a chance at something new. While she's enjoying the challenge, she could do without the attitude from the broody Scot next door.

Join forces to protect a runaway

Malcolm and Charlotte clash over absolutely everything on the renovation project they're tasked to lead. If there's a healthy amount of heat beneath the frustration, neither is willing to admit it. But when they discover a runaway hiding in one of the cottages, they find common purpose at last. Risks are taken and hearts expand as Malcolm and Charlotte pull out all the stops to protect Gavin from the abusive father who'd tear their unconventional family apart.

Loved it - Great story and great narration

After reading Cowboy in a Kilt, the first book in the series I could not wait to jump in to Grump In A Kilt. It was everything I was expecting and so much more. I knew that Malcolm Niall and Charlotte Vazque’s story would be passionate and fiery and it certainly was.
It was wonderful being back in Scotland; it just makes my heart happy. The sparks flew between them when they initially met and now that Charlotte is back in Scotland it seems that the chemistry between them is just as intense.
There were moments where my heart broke for Malcom and all he lost. When Malcolm and Charlotte join forces to provide sanctuary for Gavin, a young boy who is hiding on the estate, lines are crossed. Charlotte brings light into grumpy, gruff, silver fox Malcolm’s life and that made me smile. Can they provide Gavin with the family that he deserves? One click and find out.

Noel Harrison and Kelli Tager did a good job with their nrration although I will say I would have liked a more Scottish accent for Malcolm, there were times where I thought he was American. Other than that they drew me in and kept me captive with their performances

Scottish Grump

I enjoyed listening to this wonderful story set in Scotland. Malcolm is very reserved and we find out why. He had a devastating loss years ago and hasn't gotten over it. Charlotte is from Texas and has come because the man she raised is now living in Scotland. Charlotte and Malcolm each secretly like each other. They are a middle age couple but certainly don't act old. They come together to help a runaway boy have a family. I liked the interaction between all the people who are a family. Can Charlotte help Malcolm get over his grief and be able to love again? I liked the narration by Noel Harrison and Kelli Tager.
