Publisher's Summary

Groupie
/ˈɡro͞opē/
A person, especially a young woman, who regularly follows a celebrity in the hope of meeting or getting to know them.

See example Tiffany Wendel:

Whore. Slut. Cleat chaser. I'm used to the names so they don't bother me. These are my boys. My friends. So what if I like to have dirty sex with them? My body is no one's business but mine.

Why is Rowen Flanigan making me re-think how I live my life? Making me question my choices? He's only a rookie.

rookie
/ˈro͝okē/
A member of an athletic team in his first full season in that sport.

See example Rowen Flanigan:

Player. Son of a legend. Rookie.

Sure, I'd heard the stories of the groupies before. Who hasn't? I've just been more sheltered than my teammates. So what? I didn't expect her to be smart. Witty. Kind. She brings me to my knees in every way - except one.

That part? I'm saving until the time is right.

So how in the hell did I end up falling for a groupie like Tiffany? And how in the hell is this going to work when everyone at my job has had a piece of the one thing I haven't?

Queen of Groupies!?

They're my friends, I love sex, & I'm not hurting anyone. These are the words of the "Groupie", Tiffany. My answer would be: 1.No they're not your friends, no friend would let another " friend" plaster naked pictures of you all over the locker room & then make shameful comments (she's a whore, slut,we've all done her, blah, blah, blah) while your man tries to take them down instead of helping him take them down. 2.You should love yourself more: When we first saw Tiffany in this book, she was having sex with a married man while another man watched. When they were done they sent another man in. A professional soccer team is 22-25 men. According to Tiffany they're all her "friends", but even if she only did the starting team that would be 11 men. Oh yeah & she was dubbed the 'Queen of the Blowjobs'. While condoms were mentioned ,she was lucky she wasn't a walking STD or pregnant & not know who the father is because we all know condoms don't always work. 3.You ARE hurting somebody;the WIVES & CHILDREN. The only phrase that was thrown at Tiffany that I could really disagreed with was "homewrecker". That title is reserved for the husbands, because whether or not the woman knows the man is married, (TIFFANY DID) the man knows he's married.I think We were supposed to feel sorry for Tiffany but I just couldn't do it even though I think she would benefit from some therapy. My dislike of Tiffany started in the first book when she tried to start a fight with Quincy. This book tried to gloss over that. Tiffany came off as selfish ,self absorbed & delusional. Now on to the King of Delusion, Rowan,I think he thought his teammates were supposed to forget that they had sex with his woman.I had no sympathy for him either because he knew about her (past) & that with the internet, nothing stays in the past.He was to nice for her.For those who think i was too hard on Tiffany or that I'm a prude, I'm not. I just know that women cannot act like men if for no other reasons: std's, unwanted pregnancies & we're supposed to be the smart ones and yes I know it's just a book.

Groupie

So obviously there are people who don’t like this book based on Tiffany’s actions as a “Groupie” but given the title and the talk in the previous book I knew what to expect and went into it wanting M E Carter to change my mind about a character I didn’t like much in the first book. And she did that and more. She brought attention to the double standards when it comes to highly sexually active women of course but she also went deeper. Like how sharing a naked picture of someone without their consent on IG should be treated like the sexual assault it is. Did I like that Tiffany had had sex with married men? No of course not but she isn’t the only one to blame in that situation and her prior actions were explained. She didn’t remain that way once she started dating Rowen. He did a wonderful job of making her realize she really wanted more and ended up with a deeper relationship than she ever had with anyone before. I tend to enjoy the virgin meets highly sexual partner troupe but I enjoy it more when the genders are reversed from the norm. This one had its unique spin on that and one of the best lines from a male virgin I’ve heard.
“ You’re never allowed to give me a blow job again. This is so much better.”
Plus I was very happy with the ending.

This book was very well written and I’m rating it high on purpose to counterbalance the one star reviews from people who haven’t even read the book. I understand this book is not for everyone but you can get a hint from the title (and the blurb) what it’s about so if it’s not you thing, skip it. But don’t give it a low rating just because you don’t agree with the subject matter. That would be like giving your local Olive Garden a one star on Yelp because you don’t like spaghetti.

Ok favorite quote time.

“I want to know that the only person I’ve ever felt from the inside out, the only person who’s eyes I’ve looked into in the throws of passion, in the most intimate moment two people can share, I want to know that the person I have all that with is the one I love more than anyone or anything else in the world, forever.”

Wow what a sweet sexy story!

I think I'm in love! This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I will listening to the rest of this series. It was fabulous. The narrators were great for these characters and did a wonderful job narrating.

When I started this book I was not expecting what I got. There is a lot more to this world and the characters than the description led me to believe. I love sports romances but I have never read a story where the FMC was a groupie. Then add in the depth of her character and how she grows throughout the book, Tiffany is a bad*ss woman not just a stereotypical groupie. Rowen wasn't what I expected either but in a good way. I don't read many MC like him and his own code is soooooo swoon worthy. Yeah, I just melt when he speaks. ❤❤❤

This book was a breathe of fresh air when it comes to sports romances. Taking the world behind the scenes and reading about how that life is from their side, good job writing this! I love how Rowen and Tiffany communicated, even when angry, and how they dealt with the situations they were thrown in to.

I highly recommend this book and I am definately listening to the rest of the series.

It’s raw and sexy and hot, but also shows the real side of using people and not judging people at the same time! So good! ME Carter did an amazing job writing hard subject matter but with a HEA!

I Loved This Twist On A ♥♥♥♥♥ Love Story

Not your usual Love story where an experienced guy meets a virginal girl. Tiffany is an unabashed Soccer Groupie who loves every dirty experience with the boys of her favorite
pro soccer team by night and is a TV sports producer in one of the biggest markets by day. Rowen is the rookie phenom hired by the team to bring them into championship form. As Hot as he is he's also saving himself. What happens when that Hot chaste soccer star meets the very sexual team groupie is the stuff romances are made of. The always brilliant Muffy Newtown as Tiffany and the panty melting voice of Christian Fox as the Irish rookie Rowen are perfection. ♥♥♥♥♥

No words for how much I loved this book

First off, Rowen's character with Christian Fox narrating equals me swooning. Next, I've often wondered at the trend in romance novels of the bad boy/play boy and the sweet virginal girl who has been celibate for years prior to meeting said boy and all of a sudden she can't control herself. It's a theme I've seen in nearly every book. This book changes it up and while it was so hard to listen to at times it was worth it. I found myself appalled and shaking my head at Tiffany's behavior several times in the beginning of the book. And I'm sorry, I can't be convinced that she really enjoyed all of that. She was young and naive and probably looking for acceptance as evidenced by the fact that she actually thought most of those men were actually her friends. Love the male characters in ME Carter's books.

Despicable heroine

I really wished the author had not made Tiffany so “sexually liberated” because in my mind she was sexual irresponsible, stupid and selfish. Our story opens with our soccer groupie heroine engaging in casual group sexual activities with her favourite soccer playing “friends”, all in the spirit of “these are my friends” and “I just love sex”, “ I am not hurting anyone”. But it is quite clear from the start that Tiffany’s sexual partner friends really don’t have a lot of respect for her, and in fact she is hurting someone, cause some of these guys are married! I really couldn’t stand Tiffany. She is naive, selfish and the home wrecker the soccer WAGs claim she is. After I learned that she slept with the married guys, I had no sympathy for her. I loved our hero Rowan but for the life of me couldn’t see what he saw in her.
