Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Kristan Higgins is beloved for her heartfelt novels filled with humor and wisdom. Now, in her newest novel, Good Luck with That, she tackles an issue every woman deals with: body image and self-acceptance.

Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults.

For each of them, that means something different. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's about learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards, and learning to accept the love her ex-husband has tried to give her.

But as Marley and Georgia grow stronger, the real meaning of Emerson's dying wish becomes truly clear: more than anything, she wanted her friends to love themselves.

A novel of compassion and insight, Good Luck with That tells the story of two women who learn to embrace themselves just the way they are.

If you've ever fought the weight battle you'll understand this book.

If the triumph over the battle of learning to love oneself is coming of age then this book is just that: a coming of age book.
Kristian Higgins is always good for a sweet read and a good cry this is no different but she has added a new depth in her characters. The story contains True to life circumstances and I didn't want to turn it off.
I've been in the characters shoes and the look into their minds was spot on. So many lol moments.
There were facts about gastric bypass that were exaggerated but come on folks, this is fiction. All good.
I loved this book, give it a try!

This was a Very Interesting Book

First of all, I loved the voices of the narrators especially Emerson and Other Emerson. I loved all their voices and they did such a great job of reading.

The story was so good and had the perspectives of body issues from three different women and how they came to accept their bodies through the loss of Emerson.

If you are a fan of My 600 Pound Life you will like this book. If you are not a fan this can give you an idea of what people go through when they are not perfect and how their lives are impacted by the things others say and do. It also shows what they think people are saying and thinking and those things may or may not be reality. Not to mention mobility issues of some people.

I am wondering how this author researched this book. Is she obese? How did she know these things? I think it was well worth the credit or dollars.

Really liked this book

If you get bored in the beginning, stick with it. I really liked the characters and the author does a really good job of giving you just enough of each plot.
Xe Sands is absolutely fantastic. I’ve listened to hundreds of books and she is one of the very best.

Very good!

I don't usually go for the romance types, but maybe since this one was a little darker, it kept me interested. Good storyline from the 3 different viewpoints. Shows how your thoughts create your world.
