This story picks up after the prequel Playin' Cop. (I think each book could be a standalone though). In this story you really get to know the people of Henderson better. This series is really fun and you can just imagine a small town where everyone knows everyone. I grew up in one of those! So it makes it easy to relate! I was a little shocked when the story went form daughter in a risque scene to her mother in a sex scene (separate places of course). The story has so many fun moments in it and Liz Kelly really makes you feel as you could be part of their community. Nice narration.

This was my 1st book by Ms. Kelly I will definitely be read more/listening . I truly enjoyed your story and all the characters I cannot wait to see what happens next . Brooks an Lolly plus Lance had a wonderful time love lollies mom and her budding relationship. What song I thought the start line included an older couple also not just a younger couple

Great Story Brought to Life

When you've been a bookworm your whole life getting used to the format of audio can be hard, but that is why you start with stories you already love. Hearing Brooks and Lolly's story come to life via this talented narrator is definitely a fun experience!

Good cop!

I knew I would love Good Cop the minute I realized the stars of this series are sweet and sexy good-old-boys who laugh, swear and compete with each other, just like they did in high school. Brooks is the hero in Good Cop and he has always conducted himself like a gentleman. He's civic minded and is determined to make Henderson a great town where the young citizens settle down instead of heading to the big cities that surround their small and friendly town. He's had his eyes on Miss Lolly DuVal for years and now she's home for the summer and he's determined to make his move, until his best friend decides he wants her too. Sparks fly while he battles drunkenness, jealousy and stiff competition from his playboy buddy Vance, so who will Lolly choose? It's a rollicking good time with steamy sexual tension and utter chaos you won't want to miss in this hilarious small town summer romance. I loved the narration performance of Charles Lawrence.

Excellent series!!!

This is such a great series. I've read the whole series and am going back and listening to all of them. Love the narrator! He does a great job. Great story...so funny! Loved Brooks and Lolly's story. I liked that you really couldn't guess the end of the book.

Good Cop kept me chained to my Kindle for two days. I didn't want to stop listening, but silly things like sleep and appointments got in the way of that. I thought it was a great book. It was fun, funny, and sexy. The characters were believable and passionate. There was just the right amount of heat and sweet. I liked the way Ms. Kelly built the relationships in the book, both between Lolly and her guys, and Lolly and her mom. I'm looking forward to listening to Vance's story in the next book in this great series.

This was my second audiobook narrated by Mr. Lawrence. He does a really good job with each character, and moves the book along at just the right speed while showing just the right level of emotion.

Good old southern charm, a dash of intrigue, some steamy sex, and an interesting love triangle.

What about Charles Lawrence’s performance did you like?

Charles Lawrence was able to voice all the different characters and bring them to life. Good job.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Good Cop?

I loved enjoyed this audio book right from the beginning as Brooks and Vance drew me in. Liz Kelly gets guy talk and the pair felt very real and believable. The heroine Lolly is caught in a love triangle between the two—one bad cop and one good cop—but it’s always clear which one she’s meant to be with. I will continue listening to the rest of the series

What did you love best about Good Cop?

The humor!! The dialog in this story was fantastic! I love a romance with humor and this one had it in spades! Loved it!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Good Cop?

My favorite scene in Good Cop is actually the conversation between Hale Evans and Lolly's mom when they finally admitted their feelings about being together and letting everyone else in on their secret. Also, when Hale took her to meet his mom. The dialog was so funny and sweet!

Have you listened to any of Charles Lawrence’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time listening to Charles Lawrence but I thought he did a fantastic job and will look for other audiobooks that he has done narration on.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was but unfortunately life gets in the way so I wasn't able to listen in one sitting although I did try.
