If only...

This book would be so much better if only it wasn't read in the most annoying way. Each and every sentence start and ends with the same intonation, and personally it drove me crazy! Few minutes into listening I've regretted purchasing it.
The story is pretty cool, but the narrative spoils it all.

Couldn't listen to her voice for more than 10 min

I wish I could've listened to more than 10 minutes of this book, because I like PC Cast's other works a lot. But this narrator was awful. She ended every single phrase, not just sentence, with an upward inflection. It was like listening to a book filled with rhetorical questions. I kept waiting for sentences to end, and none of them did. I guess it wasn't so much that she seemed to be asking questions and more so that each sentence seemed to end with a comma. She extended every last word; nothing was inflected down and very few words were emphasized when they probably should've been. I recommend reading this book if you're really looking to get the story; don't listen to it. It was giving me a headache.

Horrible Narrator

I struggle to finish this book. I just could get passed the terrible narrator she ruined the whole book for me.

Narration was painful

The narration sounds like my iPhone was barking orders at me. Tone and modulation was unnatural and awkward.

I love this book, but...

When I first got this audio book, I could not listen to it. I didn't like how the narrator was reading the book. As I have read this series several times in my head I guess it had always sounded different to me. After reading the book again, I then decided to try the audio format. I am still not fond of the tone or cadence, but it is nice to have the book in audio form. This book series still remains my favorite.

Change the Narrator!!!

I just started this book, and I can't get over how awful the narrator is. I tried going for about 3 chapters and I just can't. I was excited because I have read some of P.C. Cast's books in the past. I'm sure the story is good but I'm probably going to have to read this book myself because I can't stand to listen for a second more.

Horrid!

This book was such a let down! Epic waste of time and it's a shame because I couldn't put down House of Night

Amazing!! it kept my undivided attention!

I was not sure at first after reading the reviews about listening to Caitlin Davis read it. but I just use the option to speed up the voice a little bit and it was absolutely amazing it kept my attention the whole time I can't wait for the next book.

Once I started this book, I listened everyday, energy chance I had! Thank you P.C. Cast, you never disappoint!
Caitlin Davies has the perfect voices for your characters and really brings them thi life!

Hard to listen to for this old timer.

What did you like best about Goddess of the Sea? What did you like least?

Interesting premise. Made me stick to listening to find out the conclusion.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

A bit drawn out, would have moved the story along at a faster pace.

What didn’t you like about Caitlin Davies’s performance?

I'm sorry to say that the performance is driving me crazy! When did the english language change the pronunciation of words to exclude the letter "T"? As an example 'forgotten becomes "for ga en," tighten becomes" ti en', etc.

Do you think Goddess of the Sea needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I don't think so.

this book tells an amazing story of mermaids, mermen,knights in shinning armer along with magic and gods and goddesses .. love ..with truly lol moments and a need for tissue moments too ..highly recommend .

Good story but Terrible narrator

Honestly this had such a good story line but narrator turned it into trash! Anything by this narrator I now avoid after listening to three books Her voice is just not meant to be for audio books. I wouldn’t even listen to my favourite book if she narrated it for fear she would ruin it with her terrible voices

Could not get past first chapter

Terrible writing, annoying character and soulless reading. I tried twice and could not get passed 5 minutes.

Great story. Shame about narration

I love this series of books and was so excited to find them here on Audible….. but I was so put off by the narration, which was almost painful to listen to, that I had to literally force myself to continue listening until the end. It is such a shame. I see that the whole series is read by the same person so that has massively deterred me from buying the rest of them. I think I’ll stick to the paper copies of these stories

one of my favourite goddess books now to goddess of troy which i have not yet read..... I have read this book many times now. If you feel a connection to sea and earth this book is 100% for you, I love the sea and I love the earth and I love this book. its magical, it's beautiful its romantic it's simply one of the best books I have ever read
