not what expected or wanted

I thought this book was going to be about resources on Financial where to find funding, where to find manufacturers Etc. I did not need an inspirational book I needed facts and resources.

Great first book by Kelsey

If you could sum up Go Solo in three words, what would they be?

Kelsey is doing a great job interviewing moguls for her YouTube channel. Since she provides such content I wanted to buy her book and show my support.

Would you recommend Go Solo to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend her book to people that haven't started a business yet and want a little guidance. If you are a seasoned business owner, the material is a bit elementary.

What about Kelsey Humphreys’s performance did you like?

I like that her personality shows in her writing.

Any additional comments?

She uses passive language in her writing. She should display more authority in her speech. She says words like, "I think"and "Maybe"

When writing a book giving business tips, write with more certainty in your experience.

Amazing narration!

She realy makes you feel in powered. She really nails a lot of important points and things to think about when you’re starting a business although I wish she was more specific about where to get the worksheet from when you’re listening to an audiobook

3 Hour long pep talk

What would have made Go Solo better?

More technical guidance as to whats involved in "going solo"

Would you ever listen to anything by Kelsey Humphreys again?

Maybe

Any additional comments?

Its a 3 hour long pep talk, which is fine because some people need that. If you're looking for something a bit more substantive look elsewhere.

Interesting thoughts on how to start the process

Good starter for those thinking about leaving the rat race. Focused on how to get to a position to start and less on what to do once you've taken the jump.

Interesting read, though very basic

The premise of this book, that is to start climbing your mountain and enjoy the challenges ahead, was a fun, inspiring concept. However i found the content to be nothing new or insightful. I'd say this would be more suited to school leavers/graduates, and maybe certain naive people. But for the more experienced in life, there's little that you probably don't know already. In fact, books such as Tribes, and Crush It! go much deeper into some of the topics discussed here.
Overall, this is a good basic intro into the topic of building a personal brand or business, and for some people it will provide a brilliant boost of motivation to get started.

Based on first couple of chapters...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I expect non-fiction books to be well-researched. I'm unwilling to listen past the first chapter or 2 if the evidence consists of anecdotes about friends' experiences or 'what God wants'. I was after useful information, I feel this read like a non-very-experienced person's personal views. What's more that person relies heavily on a religious view that I cannot relate to.

Has Go Solo put you off other books in this genre?

no just wary

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I don't have an issue with the narration, I have an issue with the content.

Any additional comments?

This review is based on the first couple of chapters as I'm not willing to listen to the rest. I felt it was important to leave a review though, otherwise only those who think it is worth listening to will review, which will positively bias reviews.
