Noel Hynd's "Ghosts" Updated and Revised

Ghosts was originally written in the 80's. Hynd recently revised it for the new generations. And there lies the problem.

30 years ago, these stories were unusual, new, and great for putting a chill down the bravest of spines..... and that is no small thing. But the stories have been told and retold now, and the storylines are no longer as original. Unfortunately, a revision will not fix this.

Noel Hynd is a memorable writer, and he has a hefty fan base reviewing this novel on Amazon. This book is well written and narration is strong. It starts off slower, but about half way through, it moves faster, and holds the readers attention until the end. Don't get me wrong... it's worth reading.

I would have enjoyed the book more if I had not read all the reviews of those who were scared out of their mind 30 years ago, and that were able to rediscover the creepiness that they remembered.

I'm glad I read it, but I think the rave reviews will be written by those who were the first to read "Ghosts" and who kept it alive in their memories throughout the past three decades.

Just what I needed!

I love a good ghost story, and this one was just right. Right blend of the creeps and the story was easy to follow. It was not overly scary, and even though there were descriptions of violence it was not over done. I gave the performance only 3 stars because the narrator seemed to rush through the story. However, his reading of the dialog was really well done. The story was well worth the listen and was very enjoyable.

Might change your life!

Buy, use a credit, do what you need to do. It's worth it!! Listen to this book! It's great and a possible life changer.

The eeriness of how the spirit of Henry was able to communicate telepathically with Tim. It's frightening to have something like that inside of your head.

Entertaining

This story held my attention. I did not find my mind wandering off like it does with some stories. The characters are likable, and well developed, the Narrater can be irritating, his style is slow, if you try to set your speed up to say 1.5, it is like he racing like a jet fighter pilot. The pauses between chapters is long, a couple of times I found myself wondering if it quit playing. But overall I really liked this story.

Great ghost story!

This is a great book! I was hooked on Hynd from this one novel! Although I am not a fan of his spy novels (Although they are well written, they are just not my genre) his ghost stories are fantastic!

I have listened to many audible books and this has got to be in my top 10. Scary but not over the top.

I think Mr. Winters did an excellent job in bringing the characters to life.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ghosts: The Ghost Stories Of Noel Hynd, Book 1 to be better than the print version?

I have not read any of Noel Hynd's books as I thought that he was a writer of spy stories. This is the first book of his I have listened to and I chose it because it dealt with the supernatural.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ghosts: The Ghost Stories Of Noel Hynd, Book 1?

There are many memorable moments in the book . I think that, the section that deals with the ghost of the little girl who appears at the seance, is most memorable

What does Time Winters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He is quite good but not the best I have heard. Even so, it is quite a good performance.

It did not make me laugh or cry but it did grab my interest. Had this been a book that I was reading rather than listening to, I might have had trouble putting it down.

The story seems a little disjointed at first but it soon come together in a story of a group of people who try to track down the supernatural killer.
