I was afraid that this wouldn't live up, but it really did.
Paul's writing is excellent, and he's still an avid traveler; the fact that he had to change course from the original route made it all the more interesting as he was able to reach new places that he hadn't before.
A great follow up to the first

Where does Ghost Train to the Eastern Star rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Pretty High. I have a hard time reviewing the books I do not love. What did you like best about this story?
The main character had so much understanding of people.Have you listened to any of John McDonough’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes,,,He is my favorite narrator. I have listened to most of what he has done and I loved Grand and Glorious Physician. The other story of Luke in the Bible. McDonaugh just is the characters to me. I also loved his Mitford Series and could not listen to the prequeal because it was not him.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think his time in Viet Nam was amazing.Great audio adventure

I can appreciate the details, stories, and experiences that went into this lengthy travel and he certainly captured it well, but OMG it was hard to follow and enjoy this lengthy ramble of multitude of people, culture, random conversations, and opinions. 24 looooong hours of so many different countries, characters and stories that at times I found myself not even listening as it was all disconnected and all over the place. I guess his travel can be described as all over the place as well, but I think it would have been more enjoyable to have been able to immerse into storyline of Turkey, India, or Vietnam, or all these countries he talks about through a single book dedicated to each, and to focus on the stories and events he experienced there. Now that I'm finished, I can barely remember a few stories that stuck with me from this book because most of it got lost with so much mix thrown in together. Otherwise if you can keep up with this kind of mix, you may enjoy the book.
Too much and too long
