Publisher's Summary
Available in audio-first, an extraordinary new romance by New York Times best-selling author Emma Chase!
Head of the class...
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out.
The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy — he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle.
Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.
And knocks him right on his tight end zone.
Back to school...
Callie has a pretty sweet life herself...on the other side of the country. But circumstances — that she'd prefer to never speak of again — have brought her back home, helping out her parents and substitute teaching at her old high school.
Now she's facing bickering, raging hormones, constant gossip, awkward weirdness, and drama galore...and that's just the teachers.
Just like old times...
When Garrett offers to show his former high school sweetheart the secrets of his winning teacher ways, Callie jumps at the chance — and then has to stop herself from jumping him.
Good friends are all they can ever be.
Or...these teachers just might end up getting schooled — hard — by love.
Includes a special bonus interview with the author!

RomComs are my happy place
"Getting Schooled by Emma Chase combines so many of my favorite romantic tropes—small town, childhood sweethearts, second chance, and—as the hero is the high school football coach—even a little bit of sports romance. Above all, however, Chase delivers a feel-good romantic comedy that’s narrated by two of my favorites: Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber."

My favorite Emma Chase book to date!
STORY OVERVIEW AND REVIEW:
Reading (or in this case, listening to) Getting Schooled by Emma Chase is like watching a person fit puzzle pieces perfectly together. There's a sense of fulfillment and content in listening to this story, one that warrants a sigh of pleasure. It's full of wonderful characters, humor, emotion, and depth. The voices of her characters spoke loud and true, and you will love them for it. I have always loved Emma Chase's words—it's smart, witty, and addictive. Getting Schooled has all of that in spades.
Garrett Daniels and Callaway Carpenter fell in love in high school, and thought they would be together forever. You'd look at them and know it's not puppy love. But distance and time apart put an end to their relationship, and they both move on with their lives—Callie in San Diego trying to make her way into the theater world, and Garrett back at home coaching his old school's football team to the top.
An incident Callie would rather not think about ever again makes her move back to her parents' house in New Jersey. She takes a temporary job at her old high school as the substitute teacher, and there she reunites with the love of her life. Garrett Daniels, golden boy and former star athlete of their school, is now the football coach of the team. They finally get their second chance more than a decade later at the very same place where it all began.
I knew from the moment Garrett and Callie talked to each other again that they were meant to be. Without a doubt. Everything about their relationship felt real to me. It was so heartwarming to see them feel and act so at ease with each other even after being apart for so long. They are each other's person. Whether they're laughing, making love, or breaking apart, it brought a tug to my heart that rarely happens when I read books. And I read a lot. I loved this couple that much.
While Garrett and Callie's reunion was central to the story, I love that Getting Schooled also highlighted what it's like to be a teacher. It was interesting to see their train of thought, the efforts they did to reach their students, their frustrations and hurt, and the joy of seeing their students grow and learn. It added so much to the story without stealing the spotlight from the romance.
WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT THE AUDIOBOOK?
Aside from the story, the narrators were fantastic! I'm a huge fan of Andi Arndt, so it's not really surprising that she did a wonderful job here. I've only listened to Zachary Webb a few times, but it still blows my mind how amazing of a narrator he is. He's amazing in acting out not just Garrett, but every single person in this book. I've never been so entertained by a narrator as much as Zachary Webber.
These two wonderful narrators brought to life a story that is already strong on its own.
This is definitely one of the most enjoyable audiobooks I've listened to. The emotions and imagery were so vivid that I felt like I was in their world. I saw the football games, sat with the students in class, watched front row as Garrett and Callie got their second chance. I laughed out loud, smiled like a complete idiot, and cried. By the end of it, I felt so full. I was ready to burst with love and emotion.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS AUDIOBOOK TO A FRIEND? IF SO, WHY?
Absolutely! Romance fans will enjoy this wonderfully written second chance story. It has everything I could possibly want in an audiobook, and I'm sure audiophiles and audiobook virgins alike would agree.

Hilarious yet Romantic
First let me say the narrators were a great combo. Andi did a phenomenal job as usual. Zachary was a bit of a surprise. He was so funny with his voices and the projection of expressions coming thru. I really enjoyed his narration.
The story was romantic and funny all at the same time. This was a make you feel good book while laughing out loud. I don’t recommend you pass this book up. This author has captured humor writing at its best. Lost love and second chances with humor. What’s not to enjoy?

a new favorite from Emma Chase!
Oh my heart, I loved this book so freaking much. Every single thing about it gave me deliciously giddy feels. My heart smiled the entire time, except in those moments when it ached and when it cried. The romance in Getting Schooled is absolutely EVERYTHING. It's so heartwarming, so satisfying, so joyful. It made me want to pump my fist in the air as I read. But there's so much more to this story than just the central romance between a football coach and the newly hired drama teacher who also happens to be his high school sweetheart. It's a heartfelt story of what it means to coach and educate, to guide a future generation and instill confidence in them while they're struggling with teenage angst and social issues. It's about family and friendship and the humor and heartache that connects all of them. And, of course, it's an unforgettable love story between characters that I just adored.
I loved every facet of this book, every layer, every side character. And I loved how much I was made to feel through the powerhouse narration of Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt. We've been saying it for years: Emma Chase writes the male POV like no one else around. The voice she gives all of her characters is utter perfection, but the voice she gives her heroes has placed her on a pedestal since the days of Drew Evans. But the added perk of this book being released first as an audiobook is that the already vivid voices she gives her characters through her lush writing style are ratcheted up exponentially by what these narrators bring to the table. It's just PHENOMENAL. A marriage made in ROMANCE NOVEL heaven, that's what this is.The stunningly superb writing of Emma Chase meeting the wholly intoxicating voices of Webber and Arndt? What's born from that union is an unforgettable, all consuming reading experience that I NEVER WANTED TO END.
I loved the love story between Garrett and Callie. It's a second chance romance between two characters who are so obviously made for each other but whose lives took them in two different directions after high school. But years later, they find themselves brought back together again by a hilarious course of events, their reunion evolving against the backdrop of the very same high school in the same small town where they fell in love as teenagers. It's so smart and incredibly refreshing what Chase creates with this premise. What I loved most about it was how much I related to it. Not only can I easily relate to the joys and frustrations of working with students that are sometimes selfish, sometimes unkind, often insecure, sometimes troubled, but I laughed out loud throughout this story and furiously nodded with understanding as Garrett struggled to call his old teachers by their first names now that he worked alongside them. This book is a beautiful depiction of what it's like to work with students, how your heart both soars and breaks for them, how frustrating and rewarding it can all be, but it's also warm and funny. This is everything you want in a feel good romance.
Getting Schooled is DELICIOUSLY sexy, full of heart and humor, and it's peppered perfectly with just the right amount of angst and uncertainty, breaking my heart and putting it all back together in the most unexpected ways. Callie and Garrett are so right together, so sweet, so good. I loved them and I felt every nuance of their love and their longing through the superb narration in this audiobook. Exquisite storytelling and wickedly smart writing is elevated by the PERFECT voice of these narrators and it all comes together in this magnificent package of romance and palpable emotion. Getting Schooled is a new favorite of the year for me. It's so well done, so unforgettable and I'll be listening again and again. I absolutely LOVED IT.

Sheer Perfection!
Every once in a while I stumble upon a book that provides a nearly perfect reading experience. In this case the experience was auditory, but honestly the feeling - that almost giddy excitement and sweetly satisfied heart feeling - was just the same. The characters came alive for me and I absolutely adored their voices - that is, both the narration and the actually character voices themselves which were that perfect blend of sarcasm and sincerity that feels authentic and relatable (and frankly, a bit swoony). This is my first book by Emma Chase and now I’m dying to know what I’ve been missing. I laughed out loud, I cried a little, and I gave my heart over completely to Garrett and Callie’s story. Truly, this was one of those perfect reading/listening experiences and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

A+ for Getting Schooled!
Getting Schooled gets a resounding A+! What a cute romance, this book gave me all the feels! I loved everything about this story. Sometimes its nice to listen/read a book where there's not excessive drama, and instead you have a solid story that makes your heart full and makes you believe in love.
Garrett and Callie are two thirty-somethings that rekindle a love that never really died from their teenage years. With a cast of hilarious characters, Getting Schooled will keep you hanging on every word and falling head over heels in love. Bravo Emma Chase, job well done!

The most fun you can have dressed
I haven’t laughed this much in a long time. This second chance romance brings two high school sweethearts back together after 17 years. Garrett and Callie are golden together. With the backdrop of the local high school plus their crazy families, there is never a dull moment in this story. The narration is spot on and I couldn’t recommend this any more.

Mature, Funny and Sexy
While Callie was a wonderfully written character, high school teacher/coach Garrett was absolutely addicting: strong, caring and sexy.
I would use the term alpha male, since Garret was incredibly protective of Callie, his students, players and family. Sadly, the term alpha male has recently been misconstrued in recent fiction to describe violent, arrogant and sadistic bullies.
I loved the way Garret admired, respected and supported Callie, who was dealing with family and career challenges. Callie was smart and confident, happy to reconnect with her high school boyfriend but not desperate or clingy.
Bonus: very humorous moments, interesting secondary characters, amazing narration. Thank you Emma Chase! Excellent work!

Funny, emotional and heartfelt
This is the first book I’ve read by Emma Chase, but it won’t be my last. I loved how it was written and how it was sweet and sexy and emotional and heartfelt. I love the humour. I listened to it in one sitting, once I started it I just didn’t want to stop. I really like the cover too, it gives an idea of the story and contains the narrators names.
Getting Schooled is such a sweet and sexy story. I loved it. I laughed, boy did I laugh. I even cried (big fat tears at one point). The characters really made this story. The supporting cast was a wonderful addition, they really made a difference in this story and I hope we see more of them in the future. The kids were adorable.
Garrett was a sweetheart, I just loved him. The scenes with his nephews and the dogs just gutted me. He’s the type of book boyfriend everybody wants. Callie was awesome, I liked how she handled things and forgave easily. Whereas Garrett’s appeal as in his emotion, for Callie it was all about her thought processes – they were both huge positives in this book and made them endearing as characters. I loved how we didn’t have to wait long for Garrett and Callie to reconnect and how their connection was palpable. The sexy times were downright sexy and fit with the characters and what was happening. It was great how it centre's on a return home and that old adage ‘who says you can’t go home?’ or, maybe it’s not an adage but a song, *shrugs* my inner Bon Jovi girl just wanted to use that line.
Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are a great team, I was super happy to see them pair up for this book and really enjoyed their performance. The scene with the dog was probably my favourite due to the performance and how it affected me. They both put so much emotion into their performances and it’s beautiful to listen to. Their comedic timing is always spot on. The production was great with no issues that I noted.
The interview with Emma Chase at the end of the book was a lovely addition and gave insight into the book and I loved hearing about what the plan is for this series.

Suprising!
I don't normally listen to romance but signed up for the Romance Package to find new authors and narrator's. I ended up listening to this and was pleasantly surprised. The author really has a talented way with words that capture human thoughts and emotions in a way that was very relatable and pretty deep. The book was light and funny but had so much depth in the characters. I fell in love with Garrett and Calli.
The narrator's were the best I have heard in a long time! They pulled me into the story so much that at times I completely forgot the world around me! Garretts voice was so sexy!
I will definitely be looking into other works by this author and both narrators.

Meant To Be!
When Callie gets the phone call saying her parents were in a car accident she doesn’t hesitate to rush home to help out. They will need assistance for a year so she puts her life in San Diego on hold and her dream job and moves back into her parents house and takes a job teaching drama in the high school.
Garrett is a teacher and the high school football coach. He has built himself a life and is surrounded by friends but once Callie, his high school sweetheart and the only woman he ever loved, returns home it is like a missing part of him is back.
Garret and Callie were young and in love until Callie needed to leave town to attend university and their relationship was unable to survive. From the moment they see each again it was like they had never been apart and they had never gotten over each other but will they both be left with broken hearts when the year is over?
This story is a second chance at love for two soulmates that is full of laughs, tears, romance and everything in between. The narration was superb and it made you feel like you were right there experiencing it along with the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this story.

Great Second Chance Romance
This is one of those audiobooks that when you start it, you just want to listen to it all at once as it's so addictive.
Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt did a great job narrating as usual, they really brought the characters and story to life.
Can't wait to listen to the next book in this new series.

Sweet story
I knew how it was going to turn out though as I’d read Deans story first (this one precedes it). I had no clue it was a series as there was no mention of it on the blurb on Amazon. Never mind. It was a nice story anyway and the narrators are brilliant.

Brilliant
This story was really funny, heart warming, hot & additive. I couldnt stop listening, the narrators were amazing and if im honest i will probably be doing two things. 1) listening to this story again & 2) purchasing more Emma Chase stories. I love the authors style of writing. I would definitely recommend this story to everyone who enjoys this genre.

This is a second chance love story that starts when Callie comes back home for a few months to take care of her parents. I've enjoyed both the story and the wonderful performance.

Great listen to
Overall 4.5 for me. Performance was great from both narrators. I loved the 2 characters and I loved the story, they’re perfect t for each other… the only reason it’s not 5 stars was because I don’t believe they could’ve gone 17years like that. And get back together so easily, that’s the only reason haha

What a surprise
This was in my recommended free book library. I’m sorry to admit, I put off reading it because of the title. I didn’t want a teenage romance.
This is rich with deep characters, and all age groups. Lots of fun , romance, sadness , life lessons and intelligent writing. A nice balance of sexy times. I can’t wait to read more of Emma’s books.
Zachary and Andi are always great Narrator’s. Blissful.

A very enjoyable listen👍
This was included in my membership. Very glad it was!
Never listened/read anything by this author before so wasn’t sure what to expect, but I had heard other books by the two narrators who are always brilliant, so gave it a try.
I would go as far to say I would be happy to listen to Zachary Webber reading the phone book because his voice is so lovely.
A really nice storyline, lots of humour and all the hot scenes we love too😉
The characters were really likeable and strong. Lots of interesting additional characters fit well into the story as well.
A really good all round listen. Ticked all boxes.
Would definitely recommend 👍 and worthy of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth the listen with some lol moments
I had a great time listening to this book, it’s not too deep overall, but does touch on miscarriage if that is something you want to avoid. The humour was well placed and thoroughly enjoyable.
Although I wouldn’t necessarily come back to this book over and over, it was a great listen.

A magnificent new romance by New York Times best-selling author Emma Chase - available in audio first! Dean Walker is all about keeping life simple. He’s effortlessly talented and intelligent - spending his summers playing drums in the local band and the rest of the year teaching high school in the same Jersey town where he grew up. He likes his love life simple too, enjoying the commitment-free hook-ups his good looks and sexy charm have always made oh so easy. Then he meets Lainey Burrows. And his simple, easy life gets turned upside down.

Picture this - I’m ready to win back the love of my life, and I’m going big this time. We’re talking boom box, sing her name in the rain, let the whole damn neighborhood know I'm good and ready this time around. After all, if you're going to grand gesture the ever-loving hell out of a second chance, you need to pull out all the stops. There’s only one little problem. My college girlfriend isn't the one who shows up when I play my "I'll do anything to win you back" tune. The woman who flings open the second-floor window tells me my ex doesn’t live here anymore.
