Great History, How-To's, Recipes

This book is a sweeping rendition of the topic of tea from its history as it traversed the world to its political implications as it did so. It takes the reader through myriad scenarios on good and bad manufacturing and the culture of those growing and picking it. We learn how to recognize what is really organic or what may be harmful to us unknowingly. The reader also learns the proper way to prepare tea and how to select your favorite from so many options. Although many think tea is for the aging population, the author takes you through the demands of the millennials and their perspective on life and living. And to top it all off there are some intriguing recipes using tea as an ingredient, and not necessarily for tea-totlers! Great book!

If you have wondered...

Ever wondered what all the hype is over tea drinking? You will not be disappointed nor uncertain after reading this book. Extremely useful and well researched. Awesome read.

Chapter 1. Thank God for teabags. I may not have ever tried to make tea. Tea balls and infusers, etc., appears alot of work, but worthwhile for full flavor. I learned that green, and oolong teas, came before black tea. I love ground matcha tea.

Chapter 2 Tea is good for brain function. Unsweetened is best for lowering caloric intake. For people with inflammation, or osteoporosis, try drinking some tea. Feeling stressed? Drink tea. The author offers benefits by tea group. Great way to convince on the fence readers. I want to get some of the fruity tasting teas. Don't forget that tea, just like coffee, is best stored properly.

Chapter 3 contains in depth details, including where tea is made and the regions where the two main plants are grown. Time determines how tea will be processed. Like cotton, tea leaves are picked. The information in this chapter helps you appreciate the cost and value when purchasing quality teas. Interesting tidbit: brewed tea is known by tea tasters as liquor.

Chapter 4 goes into herbal teas, which are not real teas. Explains how young adults are pushing for more eco friendly processes and what is important when choosing.

Chapter 5 Organic teas are processed without synthetics, just like any other organically grown items. Synthetics might help keep the bugs away, which means more crop being available to harvest, but not ideal in today's preferred eco-friendly market. In this chapter, the author talks about side effects of reqular/synthetic grown teas. Shipping boxes of organic teas are stored away from regular teas to prevent synthetic leak. Reminds us of the five true teas (green, black, pu-erh, white, and oolong). FYI, pu-erh teas do not come in decaffeinated variety. Green tea is most popular. Offers readers health benefits mentioning tea group popularity. Upset tummy? Grab some organic ginger tea.

Chapter 6 Immediate surprising info. There is such a thing as green tea cereal. Not in the US. Available in Japan. This chapter talks about new tea flavors. Yum. More benefits given. Got heartburn? Licorice to the rescue. CBD infusion teas. Manufacturers are thinking more and more about market demands.

Chapter 7 explains why it is important to think about and look at manufacturer labels to check for organic. Word to the wise, if the ingredients cannot be pronounced, likely not organic. Shares how to be responsible for personal safety, including using a tea strainer. Provides a recommend list of safe teas.

The last chapter, chapter 8, is full of awesome recipes that can be followed while grabbing ingredients from your cabinets.

So many great benefits of tea!

I just finished listening to "Get the Tea: Improve Your Health Naturally by Drinking Organic Tea" audiobook and I have to say, I am blown away! This audiobook offers so much valuable information on how organic tea can improve our health and well-being.

The three key highlights that stood out to me the most were the following:

1. The importance of consuming organic tea as it is free from harmful substances that can negatively affect our health. This was a wake-up call for me as I had no idea how much pesticides and chemicals could be present in non-organic tea!
2. The amazing benefits of green tea, such as reducing the risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer. I was particularly amazed to learn about the antioxidants in green tea that help protect our cells from damage.
3. The versatility of herbal teas in addressing various health issues. I was especially excited to learn about how peppermint tea can help with digestion and reduce nausea, as I have struggled with these issues in the past.

Overall, this audiobook is a great resource for anyone looking to improve their health and well-being, and I highly recommend it. The narration was also a pleasure to listen to, making it an enjoyable and informative experience.
