Feel like a kid again!

In my mind this was one of the best stories my parents read to me! It just feel like something any kid would want to do - mix up some sort of brew with random ingredients.
I have gifted this book to so many kids because I just feel that every child should have this story in their world. Roald Dahl just had such great imagination and story telling abilities. That is the reason his stories are so popular to this day, and it is the reason they will continue to do so decades from now.

just silly funness

I've been in an emotional funk lately with so much going on in the world and in my personal life too. Roald Dahl has always been a go-to author when I've needed some wonky kicks to chillax to. I want to write and illustrate my own kids books. His style of off the wall, impossible thinking has always been an inspiration and how I write even about often more serious events when I've wanted to add humor. I make up my own goofy words too and love making kid's heroes in unique ways. Have someone you want to disappear from your life without violence or typical ways? He knows how to write it in silly, unique ways.

I was really stressed out tonight and couldn't sleep to a more educational non-fiction. I really settled down by re-reading a Dahl book. Silly, yet very relaxing. He has such a gift of turning what could be a tragedy into humor in everything he writes.

Thumbs up again to Dahl for helping to bring some of my anxiety down, even without making my real-life trauma disappear! I can't ever get enough of his books, and have read them all many times!

George's Marvelous Medicine: Another Batch

Roald Dahl has a style that no children's author could not otherwise attempt in 2018. George's Marvelous Medicine is a profanity free exploration of trying to poison your mean-spirited grandmother using household items. The wonders that follow aren't the entertaining journey of Charlie and the Chocolate factory, but a reminder of what children's literature could be in the 2nd half of the twentieth century... short, dangerous, and a bit jaded toward the older generations.
