Great Series

This was an interesting book with a premise I have never heard of before. I enjoyed reading it and the take on mermaids and the underworld of water. It had great worldbuilding and the characters were developed extremely well. The narrator did an amazing job bringing them to life. I enjoyed listening to the whole series at once. I received this promotion credit and this is my honest review.

Great series

This is a fantastic series and I’m so glad the audiobook contains all four books which is great for binge listening

An intriguing adventure

The first book can be a bit confusing with all the time travel and working towards saving the world. Joni finds herself thrust onto a path that seems very daunting. You get to meet interesting characters. I think my favorite two are Nico and Marie. There’s a good amount of humor and the character development over the 4 books was at a great pace. It didn’t feel fat or too slow. The books had a great place to the story and I was listening to it every chance I could get. I recommend to fantasy, dragon, magic, mermaid, and adventure lovers. This is a good series.

Great Boxed Set

I have read and reviewed each book in this boxed set separately. Each book was well written and entertaining and having them in one boxed set makes it easier to enjoy.

The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing this series to life and made this as much of a joy to listen to as it was to read.

incredibly entertaining listen!

This box set of the Wyrmrider series is an absolute delight. I haven't read many series that focused primarily on an MC that is a mermaid. Although Joni has a few other tricks up her sleeve I love her journey.

We see Joni truly come into her abilities and become legendary in Formia where as a half human she had some work to do to earn her place. She makes some surprising friends and allies as she meets her destiny head on.

It's a fantastic read and I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Fun read

I enjoyed some parts of the books more than others. Joni is far stronger than she knows and has a lot of difficult decisions to make. This can be read without reading the previous books by this author but it does allude to the previous series a good amount. I enjoyed getting to know more of these characters and it was interesting to see this take on time travel and the magic system. I hope we get to see more of some of these characters in future books cause I want to know what will happen to them. It was a fun and wild ride that’s for sure.

this was a really interesting paranormal boxset. The storyline had enough drama and action to hook us readers in.

THIS SERIES WAS UNIQUE. THE VOODOO THAT IS A VERY BIG THING IN IT. I DID NOT LIKE AT ALL. NARRATOR WAS GREAT!

Merworld collection

Zombie sharks? Yes, please. Time-traveling ghost pirates? I'm in! This collection of stories fit in well with other stories I've read by the author in the same -verse. It was fun to crossover series with other characters I'd met before. The world building for merpeopke was creative and made sense. I enjoyed the stories overall.

However...

Possible spoilers — I'm not quite sure why, but I didn't really find Joni to be all that heroic, and I didn't like her as much as I liked Mercy or Nyx. For the most part, the Fomorians would have been better off if she'd never come to their city in the first place. And I got sort of an entitled vibe from her. For example, her marriage isn't ideal, but, she expects her husband to change things about himself and do all the work to make her happy, while she does exactly nothing to compromise or reciprocate. She's also a bit of a helicopter-queen, in that she wants to micromanage everyone and takes it personally when someone does something she didn't give permission for. Maybe it's just me, but I found her to be heavy handed and overbearing even though she was the Queen of Bad Decisions.

Sadie May narrated the collection. I'm not sure why, but she announced the end of each chapter, which brought me out of the story every time. The narration also sounded a bit echo-y at times. I did like her character voices, and felt she did a good job with the storytelling other than the issues I mentioned.
