Publisher's summary

Frayka knows she must defy a dragon god.

The uncomfortable tug of a new scar reminds Frayka of her recent brush with death. She is still healing and not yet at her best.

The dragon claims Frayka lives only because he helped her. Whether his claim is true or simply a ruse for keeping her under his control, she has no idea.

But today is the day to find out.

Can Frayka continue her quest as a new mother?

This third book in the Dragon Gods series finds Frayka confronted with the challenges of motherhood, finding the Dragon God of Fire, escaping/avoiding the Empresses minions searching for her and her child, and lastly learning if she is physically able to continue her quest. Each of the preceding books has pushed the tempo of the story to heightened levels, and in the Gate of Fire that tempo increases to a level that left me wondering if Frayka would be able to continue her quest for multiple reasons. Once again, this story’s action is balanced by interactions between characters which provide clarity to the context of the overall series and story arc. I am basing my review on listening to Resa Nelson narrate her book Gate of Fire, and as in the previous books her narration brought these characters to life through their voices and her excellent pacing of the story.

Book 3 of the cycle. . .Frayka messes with a drago

Book three continues Frayka's journey to find help for her homeland. The story continues along the same way as books 1 and 2. Wish the narrator would step it up more.

Third Book of the Dragon Gods series

This book represents the third book in Frayka's journey. Although the story is interesting, the author continues to repeat things over and over, which is making it more difficult to enjoy the series. I also wish that the author would enhance her narration skills, since she continues to read in a mechanical voice that does not vary from character to character.
