Publisher's Summary

There are three things I know about New York so far: everybody is late for something, nobody has a freakin’ clue what sweet tea is, and King Kong himself is still alive and well and has taken the form of a growly blacksmith named Mac.

This is no shifter story, and I’m not his prey, although I wouldn’t say no if he asked for a little taste. I’ve been saddled with interviewing with the beast to secure my new dream job in publishing, but his intense stares and monosyllabic responses are making my job impossible. I just need to get this over with and move on to navigating my new life and career. I’ve got this, right?

But my professional and personal challenges are proving bigger than I realized, and Mac might be the only one who truly understands this game. He’ll be my biggest ally if I let him, and the way he keeps saying my name makes me really want to let him. The thing is, this city is known for breaking hearts, and it doesn’t care if you’re the new girl in town or the beast who calls it home.

Game Changer is a slow-burn, stand-alone romantic comedy with an emotional punch.

Opposites attract

Mac and Poppy are complete opposites, add in some humor and you have a perfect match.
There is a perfect balance of humor and romance.

Poppy leaves the south and moves to NYC which she believes will fulfill her dreams. That is until she meets a man.

I highly recommend this book!

This rom-com deserves to be famous!

This is the first time that I have listened to or read a book by Sylvie Stewart, and it was so wonderful! It is one of the best romantic comedies that I have ever experienced, and I can’t wait to listen to more of Sylvie Stewart's audiobooks. I was glued to this audiobook for the entire 11 hours. It was a complete joy to my ears.

The heroine is entirely loveable, in my opinion. Poppy James is a Southern girl from Savannah, Georgia, who is trying to establish a career as a magazine designer in New York City. She is smart, talented, determined, and loyal. As she juggles work, family, friends, and a heartburn-inducing ex-boyfriend, she has the most hilarious meet-cute with an extremely hot blacksmith/artist named Mac McKinley. He is a formidable man of few words, but he is also very thoughtful and respectful of Poppy.

Most of the audiobook is told from Poppy’s perspective, and I love every lovely, funny word coming from her mouth. Like Poppy, I also grew up near the banks of the Savannah River, and she is my favorite Southern book character ever! The narrator perfectly captures Poppy’s Georgia accent and sense of humor. The writer clearly grew up in the South, and she has created a character with whom I feel that I could be best friends. Poppy also gets into hilarious situations, and she has a really funny commentary and dialogue with Mac and everyone else. Her personal problems were very entertaining and fascinating. In addition, the relationship development kept me on the edge of my seat. The expert narrator Meg Price also does a perfect job on all of the other characters and accents, including the seriously seductive hero, Mac. I will definitely look up more of her work.

This rom-com is absolutely fantastic, with a great pair of primary characters, humor, and spunk. I highly recommend it to all fans of romantic comedies, especially fans of Mariana Zapata, Penny Reed, and Helen Hoang. This is a rather slow burn, but it does get steamy.

I requested and received a free copy from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

A romance with sass and snarls

When you can listen to the banter a single narrator has with herself and decipher which Georgia woman is speaking, you know the audiobook is well-done. When you are laughing outloud and grunting along with the male love interest, you know the story is well-written. Poppy and Mac bring together her sass and his snarls in a story you'll love.

Better Than Sweet Tea!

Game Changer by Sylvie Stewart pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved how the author wrote the humor and the slow burn steamy relationship of Poppy and Mac. The story also has tender and tragic moments, laugh out loud humor, vivid imagery, and some endearing characters. Meg Price was fantastic with her performance. She was flawless in switching from a Southern Accent to one without, and gave the characters distinguishable voices. I found Poppy to be a feisty and compelling character, who moved from Savannah to NYC, yet kept her quirkiness. This book truly is amazing! I loved it.

This is fantastic

I very nearly died listening to this one I’ve laughed so hard. The humour is amazing, the characters are so well written and the narrator was so very talented. There is just enough of everything in this book, drama, humour and oh so swoon romance.

This is a book that’s needed in your library a perfect laugh out loud book.
