a riveting tale of loss and fury...& an old house

Stephanie has always dreamed of the perfect life, with a great husband, kids and the house with the picket fence. That dream is shattered when she walks in on her fiance' in flagrante with another woman. In an effort to clear her head, Stephanie takes a drive and stumbles upon an old, abandoned house that really calls to her. Further investigation reveals that the owner had died many years ago and, without any surviving family, left the house to his lawyer. Stephanie contacts the lawyer and expresses her interest in the property. At first the lawyer resists since the prior owner had made him promise to never sell the house, but once Stephanie assures him that she will indeed demolish the house, he agrees to sell. Life is good for Stephanie...until she sees a news piece about vandalism at the local library and the fury burns within her...then she's suddenly at the library just as the culprits have been their mischief. Once she puts a halt to the misdeed, she is returned to her house. Stephanie quickly realizes that she can go back in time and change the outcome of events, and she is thrilled that her life can finally have a purpose. But can she keep this up before her vendetta against crime becomes deadly...and will she survive?
This book will keep you engrossed until the very end...and leave you wanting more. What will become of Stephanie's new love interest? Guess we'll have to read the next book to find out.

How could I summit up in one sentence.

This book can be put into many genres Syfy, Romance, action adventure and just plain fiction. It is so good and have something to offer everyone. What would you do if you could go back and right wrongs would you do it… Well Stephanie did, but unfortunately she eventually bring something evil home with her and it causes her to lose everything. This book is so good I know I said that the narrator has such a great voice I love it I dare say she is my favorite narrator. She is a combination of professional and friendly I think she has the perfectvoice boy but now reading books. This book would be good for anyone who likes time travel writing wrongs adventure and romance there’s something for everyone in this book and it have been the perfect narrator doesn’t hurt. I’m so glad there was a book to as I would go crazy waiting for it! I gave it five stars because that is the highest you can give

Story was good

Honestly struggled to finish this one. The story was good, but the narrator was either way too flat or extremely dramatic... no in between. I got through it by bouncing back and forth with another book.

Needs a new narrator !!!!

It’s got a good premise. The writing is interesting. No twists or turns. Just light listening. The narrator was terrible!! She read in a monotone that defied gravity. Made it hard to stick to story. Main character could be smart in one moment and simply stupid the next. Disappointing.

Sooo Good!!!

This book was so good! I finished this book in one day, and it is definitely not one of the shorter books I have. I can't wait for the next one. I was hooked from the first chapter. Oh, and the narration was excellent also. I most definitely recommend this book! <3

Not what I expected

The title does not do this book justice.
Stephanie discovers a mysterious power giving her the opportunity to change things from the past before they happen.
One must remember that you cant change the past in hopes of changing your own future. Stephanie did change/prevent a few disaterous events but in the end she lost a lot and gained one thing she wanted.
Wonderfully written and narrated.
I received this book free for an honest review from the author or narrator.

Just doesn't do it for me

The tells a story of a woman buying a house, once she moves in her life is changed forever. Things start happening that just can’t be explain Stephanie wondering just what is happening and why, what has started these weird encounters? Just why is she taken to place and what is her job, the author gives some interesting twist and turn, danger and more. The plot is very good, the author uses way to many fillers with that in mind he lost me so many times. I do not need every move or every detail given to me, I don’t need to know how the trip to the grocery store went, she went which is great but then I don’t need to know that she didn’t shop but went to the pick and how wonderful that was in detail. The whole book is filled with this which leaves time for the mind to wonder which it does. Besides that I don’t have an issues with the author and thought he gave a very interesting plot.

The narrator does a great job, there are a lot of places where she pauses and doesn’t need to which leave the story hanging and feels like the sentence is not complete, than picks up which does take away from the flow of the story. Beside that I thought she did a wonderful job, giving true emotion, thought her character voices were really nice, you know who is talking and what they are feeling. She does give the story passion, there are no volume changes, no repeating of words,

I give the author a three star and narration 4 start.

Right place at the right time

After feeling betrayed and miserable following her another failed relationship, Stephanie finds a derelict old house standing alone outside of her usual area of knowledge. And with it, she feels a wonderful sense of peace. The old Higgins house, built in the early 1900s, had been empty for some 17 years. She decides to buy it. At first, there was a reluctance on the part of the owner, a solicitor who had been left the house by the son of the couple who built it on the condition it should not be lived in again. But then the five acres of property are sold to Stephanie on her agreement to pull the house down. Of course, she doesn't: she renovated and moves in.
Always prone to rages, she finds that strange things start happening to her when news items occur that make her angry - she transports to the past - and the book charts her increasing control of her new power and the change it brings to her life. Time travel, a touch of romance, a faithful licky dog, a female friend and a serial killer thriller keep the interest in this book flowing.

Despite lots of attention to detail, characterisation is very scanty other than for Stephanie herself and, for this reader, even she stays insubstantial as a real person. Perhaps those trips into the past rather thi n our her present personality? She becomes increasingly unlikable as the book progresses as her Messianic nature unfurls and she blunders about, good natured but interfering, doing who knows what harm to the timeline? But it was a clever idea and served to string together what were, in effect, several very short stories into one cohesive whole.
Narration by the deliciously sounding Daniela Actelli is both well modulated and intoned, as well as nicely paced. Her characters are individually voiced and her performance helps to breath life into the story, especially the (fairly brief) conversations which had a slightly stilted feel rather than spontaneous conversation.

The book was enjoyable overall but did leave some questions unanswered, perhaps to be addressed in later books in the series. My thanks to the rights holder of Fury: the Awakening, who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy, via Audiobook Boom. Good concept, an easy read, but probably not one that I would recommend despite the tension filled last trip to the past and all of the subsequent ramifications. Will I read book two? Probably not.

I loved it. It was a lovely and exciting book

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest and open review. I loved it and found it a really exciting book to listen too. I find it hard concentrate on audible books. I mainly use audible for learning and rarely for fictional books. It had me on the edge of my car seat in the last chapter!

Different!

I love the idea of this books! Sadly, I do think a lot of it just seemed too coincidental, but that is fiction! Narration was good! That quality of the recording could have been a bit better, I think. Overall, I liked this story and the whole idea. Definitely recommend!
