Publisher's Summary

Dr. Kevin Hoffarth graduated from medical school in 2000 and completed his family medicine residency at Creighton University in 2003. In his first 10 years as a family physician, he worked in every area of medicine possible; from births to deaths and everything in between. During those years in the trenches, he realized that how he was taught to approach the ailments of his patients could be vastly improved upon. It was then that he decided to embark on a medical journey to seek out and learn the new philosophies and ways of more effectively treating 21st century medical issues.

In his book, Dr. Hoffarth guides us through the knowledge he has gathered across this journey, his seven years of experience implementing what he learned along the way, and the appreciation he has gained towards the ties that bind us all. He will walk you through his application of treating the five "S.T.A.M.P" triggers, along with his basic principles on tackling illness, building discipline, and learning how to be your best self both physically and mentally. In a world filled with conflicting advice, a constant flow of new information, and the common practice of treating symptoms over illness, Dr. Hoffarth brings us the most basic starting points to healing - cutting over the noise and confusion plaguing the patients of the medical world.

Nice into to functional medicine

This book is exactly what it advertises. It's a basic introduction to functional medicine and how to get back on track. I hope to learn more advanced functional medicine practices but you don't get it in this book which is fine. But if you're new to the practice you should definitely start with this book, it was a very pleasant read.

OK

lots of complete nonsense but some reasonable information as well. Not a ton of useful and actionable stuff in this book but still just about worth the time and money.

easy to finish but not as informative as I hoped

I enjoyed the book, short and easy to listen to.
the biggest part of the book is about mental health and meditation. Then a small section is about functional medicine diagnostic process.
Its general and not specific for any given disease but covers most root causes.
I found that I already knew everything in the book through dr mark haymen's podcast.

Loved This

A great book. Easy to listen to and understand and basically confirmed, with science, what I already suspected and was trying to implement. If only this advice was available on the NHS
