Publisher's summary

Symone Davenport is a 22-year-old college senior who has set herself up for a very secure future, but all her achievements feel more like a duty than a labor of love. Her true love is singing R&B. She doesn't believe her plus-size figure could ever be diva material, so she settles for fading into the background in her father's church choir. It takes the help of Jaylen Richards, the handsome new choir director, to not only unlock her talent and try to bring her into the spotlight but to unlock her heart.

Janice was never very thin, but the 50 pounds she packed on after her sister's sudden death two years ago sent her way beyond the size 14 she used to be. With a gorgeous face, personality, and brains, she isn't lacking friends, but her insecurities about her weight gain get in the way of things reaching the next level with men.

Flirting over the phone and via e-mail with Tony is easy, since he's hundreds of miles away, but when business brings him to Janice's Chicago office, she goes out of her way to avoid meeting him face-to-face. She assumes he'll take one look at her and not even remember their conversations. She couldn't be further from the truth, and soon their romance blossoms. In his arms nothing, especially size, matters; however, when lies are uncovered and things come undone, layers of Tony are exposed. Will it reveal a golden pear or a rotten apple? Did he play on her insecurities for his own selfish gain, and is he just more dead weight she will eventually have to lose?

Boring

I think I'm done with the full figured stories. The first book was exhausting, and this one was boring. I won't be spending my money or credits to hear the rest of these stories, If i do anyways.

Decent Story

The story was decent, but the person narrating didn't pull me into the story. I felt like I was being read to instead of living through the reader.

One out of two stories was good

This book is divided between to stories. The first story was well written and well thought out. It follows a woman who is brought out of her shell by a guy who happens to discover her. He then works to help her to bring her voice for singing to the world. The story goes through what she's feeling and going through to achieve her dreams he suddenly put in front of her. This story goes into the family dynamics as well and by he end it's a heartwarming tail.

The second story is a waste and should be removed from this audio book. If it weren't for the first story I would give this one negative stars if I could. I listened to it and I am still wondering how this was called a story. It could have been written as a post on Twitter! I won't waste anyone's time except to say it's not appropriate for kids It's a complete waste!

Narrator is horrible!

The narrator ruined the book for me. Just awful! She’s worst than Siri! No expression whatsoever in her performance. Just awful!

Great

I really liked these books and would recommend them. They had a great storyline and no heavy cussing. I wish this book was a movie or TV show.

The 1st book was a great inspiration story and cute romance story. It hit on real life issues like singing and weight, preachers thinking they are holy and doing their family wrong, and choir members that hug all the songs.

The 2nd book was good and she needed to get rid of that freeloader loser in the being of the story. In the end she got a real winner.

Need 2 narrators and chapter titles

This is my first time writing a review which shows how strongly I feel about this. This book needs a male and female narrator and chapter titles to indicate who is speaking. There are several times it took me a whole minute or two to figure it out. There is also a mistake in the recording in the last 2 hours where it gets out of order. This book feels like a starter by a rookie and it needs work.
