Publisher's Summary

Delta Force operator Kolt Raynor must thwart a deadly terrorist plot in this globe-hopping special operations thriller in the New York Times best-selling series.

When SEAL Team Six killed Osama bin Laden, they pulled a treasure trove of intelligence on planned attacks on U.S. soil. Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda's new leader, is activating his most trusted (and deadliest) terrorists to carry out his newest plot: to detonate a bomb inside one of the 64 commercial nuclear power plants in the U.S. in an attack 10 times worse than 9/11, causing radiological fallout that would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Americans.

The president wants answers quickly, and after Kolt Raynor saved his life a few months earlier, he knows Delta Force is fully capable. But Kolt is on the verge of getting forced out of JSOC for disobeying orders in Pakistan - and when he's offered a slot in Tungsten, an ultra-secret deep-cover organization, he jumps at the chance. Now his task is to infiltrate al Qaeda and prevent this deep-cover terror cell from making their plot a reality before it's too late. In Full Assault Mode, former Delta Force commander Dalton Fury takes listeners inside the world of undercover special operations - where every wrong step costs lives, and one minute might just be one minute too late....

Not as good as the first 2

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story really jumps around. There were several times in during the book that I thought I may have missed a chapter or something. The scenes jump from one location to another and he doesnt explain how the character got out a certain situation.

Would you be willing to try another book from Dalton Fury? Why or why not?

Yes. I like the narrator and author. This book just wasn't as good as the first 2.

Which character – as performed by Ari Fliakos – was your favorite?

Kolt

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

maybe

Fall from grace

Though this book started off with some promise - By the middle I was ready to delete from my library. This was a full assault on my brain in general. Note to author - Please stop inserting a dialog about who Kolt Raynor is supposed to be in the beginning of the book. I know that Kolt is not real - You telling me about why you created him and what I am supposed to think about him - Is like telling me this guy is totally make believe. Don't tell me how good the chocolate is. Just give me a piece & I determine how good it is on my own. Kolt's internal dialog and moral dilema's have to go as well. I listened to the first two novels & I thought the 2nd was better than the first. When the 3rd installment came out - I thought "Great" but I also thought it was quick. This story line confirmed the latter. You want to know how i know this guy isn't Mitch Rapp like some would think - Mitch would have killed and mamed whoever to get to Hawk. The suicide mission was weird. Shot - Radiactive water - Semi drowning - Fake bombs - Mass execution to insert a player. Are we still in something that isn't science fiction? A good friend - I.E. Publisher/Editor if they read this should have told you what I'm about to tell you. This book stunk. Sorry man

Narration could have been better.

Well written Action packed story with a very cool main character. The narrator actually had a voice that seemed to fit him well. BUT, during the story it didn’t matter if he was in a firefight or talking to his lady. I don’t like giving bad reviews and this one wasn’t terrible but it missed the ability to feel the like I’m in the action like some others have.

Liked the 1st 2 a whole lot more!

What did you like best about Full Assault Mode? What did you like least?

I liked that Kolt is not dead...LOL...This was only a shadow of his first two books...way to much redundancy. I mean how many times do we have to hear about why Kolt is doing this, and what he did before and how for the 3rd time he his saving thousands of people maybe millions...or maybe the whole frickin' world. I know its a novel...but come on now, lets keep it somewhat real!

Has Full Assault Mode turned you off from other books in this genre?

Still a good listen but 1/2 way thru I was was ready to abandon the novel.

Which scene was your favorite?

There is way too much going on to pick one!

Was Full Assault Mode worth the listening time?

No.

Any additional comments?

It does seem that all franchise authors hit the wall at one of there books. I think this was it for Dalton Fury. I bet the next one will be as good as the first 2.

Storyline did not make any sense

Liked the first two in a series, but this story did not make any sence, specially the second half.
Seemed like it was written by somebody else.

This book is nothing like the first two ....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I loved the first two books in this series. In fact, they may be my favorites in this genre. This installment, unfortunately, was poorly edited. It is filled with long, circular streams of thought, bizarre time lapses that constantly had me wondering if a day or a month had passed within the story, and over-the-top plot twists that felt more at home in a cartoon.

Has Full Assault Mode turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not at all. I chalk this up to poor editing.

Which scene was your favorite?

The entire book had me mildly perplexed ... as if I'd missed a chapter or five. I honestly didn't enjoy any of the scenes.

What character would you cut from Full Assault Mode?

See above.

Any additional comments?

At the risk of repetition, I love the first two installments. Assuming the author hires the original editor, I'll chalk this one up to a "miss" and look forward to Kolt's next adventure.

I jumped off as it skidded downhill

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I am not sure what happened in this book. The previous ones were fantastic. They were filled with intelligent commentary and a real understanding of the enemy. These bad guys weren't very smart and it made it less interesting. The plot line was more focused on the action rather than insights from the main character. Some parts of the book felt like advertisements for products and there was sprinkled in political commentary that was distracting (e.g. "liberal media"). I stopped mid way through the book. It was sad. I loved the previous books.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

didn't get there

Which character – as performed by Ari Fliakos – was your favorite?

Colt
