Laugh out loud with my kids

I so enjoyed reading Judy Blume growing up in the 70-80"s, so I chose the Fudge series to listen to with my 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son on a 14 hour road trip. We loved this story the best in the series. Blume so expertly enters the psyche of kids. She deeply understands a child's quirky, sometimes morbid sense of humor and she is just so perfectly honest about what it feels like to be 5 or 8 or 10, that we couldn't help but laugh out loud at many points in this book- ALL 3 of us. Blume narrating the series is the icing on the proverbial cake. Truly fantastic! (Even if you have never been to Maine, this vacation-debacle story is relatable to any grown up or kid.)

First Jdy Blume book I read.

Not a bad book at all. A lot of funny moments, and slice of life as well. Shame she's only written a few of them.

Amazing

Very funny and easy grammer and reading for children. My whole view of the world was changed by this book. A blind man was able to see again because of this book.

Really good book

I liked that Judy Blume included baseball. I would recommend this book to my brother, because Fudge and my brother are the same age.
I gave this rating because Judy Blume did a good job changing voices for the different people.

Liked the book, couldn't stand the audiobook

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Sorry, we really felt that this book needed different narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Aware that the author read her own book, which is often a plus. For example, we really loved listening to Charlotte's Web, as read by its author. However, in this case, whether it was due to the narrator's odd accent or high pitched narration, we could not continue listening past the 5th chapter.

Any additional comments?

Unable to return unread audiobooks. We also bought Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, also as an audiobook... after realizing that it is narrated by the same person, we knew we would not be listening to it and wanted to return it, but found we were unable to. So it will be wasted.

Awesome

I loved it! Judy has an amazing charm when reading. Since she is the author, you know you are hearing the story the way it was meant to be, such as the songs that Fudge sings.
