Publisher's summary

Dr. Bob Rosenthal has been a student and teacher of A Course in Miracles for over 40 years. As co-president of the Foundation for Inner Peace, he recognized the need for a series of books that could help those who have heard of the Course and feel drawn to it, but may need a leg up to get started. In this, the first book of the series, Dr. Rosenthal approaches the Course from an entirely fresh perspective. Using common sense wisdom and sharing from his own experience as both a psychiatrist and Course student, he unpacks the core elements of the Course's teaching in a clear and comprehensible manner. If you've only heard of A Course in Miracles and are curious about what it says, or if you've tried to study it but given up, then this book will be a big help. If you're already a dedicated Course student, you will appreciate Dr. Rosenthal's contribution even more. You will emerge with a better grasp of the Course's central principle: I am one Self, united with my Creator.

So Helpful

Just finished with the audible version. I've been studying ACIM 7 years. This book is so helpful in the way Dr. Rosenthal uses common everyday ideas to advance the teachings of ACIM. I am very much looking forward to the rest of these books. I enjoyed it so much! Thank you!

excellent!

He never strays from the true teachings of ACIM. The analogies are so good and so helpful for better understanding and application of ACIM. The voice narration is pleasant to listen to. Highly recommend!

A Good Supplement for ACIM

This ACIM guide has lots of real world examples. It is very soothing to listen to. The narrator’s voice reminds me of “Spock” which fits with the theme of the book.

Helpful Interpretation of ACIM

I thought that this was an interesting interpretation of certain core concepts of ACIM due to it being written from a psychoanalyst's point of view. The comparison of Dissociative Identity Disorder and the interaction between the ego and the Holy Spirit was especially meaningful. Having listened to ACIM five times now, I found this book to be another good aid in increasing my understanding of its principles and practices. This book is well written and the narration nicely done. As it is the first book that I've read by this author, I intend to read more. I consider it to be a nice adjunct for the ACIM student. Highly recommended.

Clarity

Dr. Rosenthal has a masterful knack for explaining principles and teachings from A Course In Miracles. He has a brilliant capacity for using metaphor, and his background in psychiatry and literature reveal a wide breadth. This book is an inviting place to start if you are unfamiliar with the Course, but also is an excellent refresher for the seasoned seeker. I’ve been studying the Course for the past 40 years, and found this book enlightening. Thank you Dr. Rosenthal.

too much contradiction for me

It was ok in some ways. It just didn't feel like it opened my perspective at all. Anything the ego perceives to not real but miracles are. Doesn't the ego perceive the miracle? Hard to get past that one for me.
