Publisher's Summary

Freedom Lost is the ninth book in Dr. Bradley's Survivalist series. When a friend is wrongly convicted, deputy marshal Mason Raines must take his place in a gun-fighting competition unlike any other. To survive, he must overcome a handful of unique shooting challenges, each with deadly consequences. As Mason defeats one ruthless competitor after another, he begins to question not only the brutality of the competition but also the guilt of its competitors. Meanwhile, Tanner and Samantha embark on a cross-country journey to find Issa. Along the way, they team up with a cantankerous nun searching for her missing sisters. Their journey leads them to a sadistic doctor specializing in eugenics, and an abandoned children's insane asylum with a dark inhabitant.

Excellent Series

This is a great series. I was so excited to see a new book in this series. I wish Audible was better at informing customers when a new book comes out in a series I already own. Don't miss this one. Lots of Fun!

Where are we going with this?

So the first 8 books was the heart of this story. Book 9 was entertaining, but now I dont see a clear direction. With the original story plot having been wrapped up, each of the primary characters is going in their own direction. This isnt necessarily a problem, but there also isnt an overall larger story plot either. It will be interesting to see where the author takes this story now.

The Action Continues

Mason, while not in the best position, finds himself stuck in the middle of a situation where duty calls on him to act. His interactions bring action, suspense and a little romance into the mix. Tanner and Samantha have a goal in mind when they leave the cabin, but fate has different plans. Their journey is wrought with suspense, humor, light-hearted banter, and of course, a ton of action. I did not want to stop listening to go to sleep. I fought sleep or hours to hear what would happen next. The ending has set things up for the next book, which I can already tell will be a must read. Excellent book.

John David Farrell continues to amaze, as he is challenged with more characters to portray. He’s perfect for this series; I’m enjoying listening to his performances in these books. Great pacing, tone, inflections, and accents. I highly recommend him as a narrator.

Who's afraid of the were-hog?

Another solid book in this series!
Spoiler alert***

Sam and Tanners relationship goes deeper in this book, the banter they share is some of the best parts of the series.

I really did laugh out loud when they found the country squire!

The trouble that Mason gets into is good too. I really enjoyed the gunfight contest. The description of the weapons the characters have is well done without being too technical. One gem that sticks out is the description of the nighthawk VIP.

Overall great book! Thanks Arthur T. Bradley!

Heavy topics, light humour, perfect balance.

All discussions on mortality and slavery should be handled like this. Put in a time and place removed from our own, but close enough we recognize it. Throw in an uber smart dog, a plucky teen, a few nuns, and a werepig, and you have a great read.

This story is compelling, and aside from the defigured humans is realistic. I have grown fond of all of the characters and their individual personalities. I look forward to the next book!

Bring on book 10!

Where does Freedom Lost rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The series continues with another great story line and now I'm waiting for the next book. The narration is as fantastic as the previous 8 books......
