After Colin Campbell went on a short business trip abroad, he returned home to discover his wife of many years had moved out. No explanations. No second chances. She was gone and wasn't coming back. George became a fixture in his Hermosa Beach neighborhood, warming hearts both young and old. Meanwhile, Colin headed to the beach to rekindle his love for surfing, but when George encountered the ocean and a surfboard for the first time, he did a surprising thing - he jumped right on the board. Through surfing, George and Colin began a life-altering adventure and a deep healing process that would bring them both back to life.

What did you love best about Free Days with George?

The memories of the grandfather, who in turn, advocated healing as a loving unit between man and dog without even being there in the physical sense.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Free Days with George?

The first surf. It was so exciting that I held my breath as I listened.

What about Rudy Sanda’s performance did you like?

He's a good reader in that he tells the story as if he is sitting across the table from the listener. He doesn't just read words.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the author's copilot warmed up to George, and that the author chose loving care, and safety even though his friend wasn't that excited about it. I chuckled the whole time while picturing the author in the jump seat-peering over the dash. LOL!!
I felt really sad after Jane (Doe, as I called her in my mind) went away. That night in the basement, and in the porch felt so raw and hollow. Very gut-wrenching.
