Not impressed by this one

I have enjoyed almost all the Coben books I've read. I'm not a fan of the Myron Bolitar series, so I'm excited when I find a book that is an independent work (ie, not part of that series). The premise of the book sounded interesting, so I decided to buy it. Without giving anything away, I'll just say that the ending was contrived and confusing. The characters did not have a lot of depth. I got the feeling that the author started the book with good intentions but lost interest and simply slapped an ending on...one that didn't make any sense with the preceeding arc of the story; at least to my mind. Coben has written a lot of good books. Unfortunately this isn't one of them.

OMG!!! Awesome!!!

This is the first book that I’ve read of Harlan Cobens. I’ve been aware of his books for years yet never read one. Now I know what I have been missing.
The characters, the story and the twists are riveting. January LaVoy is an amazing story teller; LaVoy is beyond narrating. LaVoy is a compelling story teller!

Sophomoric

Absent character depth. Insipid diologue and uninspired plot. Narrator did the best she could with these circumstances

Different from other books.

Excellent storyline, narrator did a great job too. Love the Coben books, this one is a standout for being a surprise ending!

Probably the worst

I have listened to several of his books and this one is definitely the weakest! Easy to figure out the final outcome early in the book. Yes some of the details were interesting but weak!

Not bad, but not his best.

The story was decent and moved at a pretty good pace. The narration was just ok. I’ve listened to a LOT of books and I’ve heard worse narration, but I’ve certainly heard better.
If you like Mr. Coben, give it a try.

So disappointed

The worst Harlan book yet. And now I know why Scott Brick didn’t narrate it. Made little sense. Plot line was thin. Never knew what was going on. Too many characters and it was so blah I didn’t even finish it.

Kept me guessing to the end

I like this audiobook as it had lots of twists and turns. I could not have predicted the end. Definitely a great suspense mystery. I liked the narrator too.
