WOW!!!!

This is certainly a hot and steamy sequel to Follow Me Darkly!! We get to learn more about our H, Mr. Black. Gotta admit that there are times that both of the leads get on my nerves, and if I were the other party, I'd have kicked them to the curb. But....thats why we read our books. And Helen Hardt can make you feel like you're there in that relationship.... And make you crazy waiting for the next book to find out what's going to happen! Lucy Rivers does an outstanding job narrating!! Her Braydon voice makes me shiver! 😆 ❤❤❤

Why Sky...Why?

Sky needs to stop being such a whiny child. Why? Why? Why? If she is so smart and independent go get a job in photography already.

The narrator is robotic

The story is pretty good. I was really hoping they would change narrators after the first one because she just cannot do a male voice without it sounding robotic. She's even somewhat robotic in the voice of the main character. I just don't understand why Helen would continue to use her.

The story is interesting but I really hate how much the heroine engages in self sabotage. The way she just can't stop picking a scab, so to say. It's super frustrating. But I'm in it at this point and I'm going to move forward with the next book because I have to see how it ends.

Dark romance

Definitely a coming of age story this time
The fmc has no idea what she wants and who she really is.

She’s only 24 and compared to the first book I definitely noticed it a bit more.

The bdsm scenes ratchet up a notch in this second story but once again like most of Helens novels both characters have issues they really need to work on.

Dark romance
Hea? Not at this stage
SFC? This is really tricky, she has a lot of growing up to do but yes she’s not a whimp or overly whingy
World building? Not really a focus
Relationship building is good with detailed sex scenes.

4 star listen
I do like Lucy rivers as a narrator, she does quite a few of Helen’s stories.

This reminds me a lot of the crossfire series and the inside out series if your looking for a similar read/listen ish

I just can’t with the series

Initially I thought the one thing this book needed was a male narrator …… oh how wrong I was. I am midway through book 2 and I can’t read anymore. I am disgusted by the hero I am disgusted by the heroine ……they are just both a piece of work.

The hero treats and the heroin like crap most of the time ….. he’s unfeeling, condescending, belittling and continually pacifies the heroine. he thinks very low of her and feels that he needs to control everything in her life. what he doesn’t need is a spouse or significant other, he needs a doormat because that’s the only thing that he’ll be able to have a relationship with. He has to be in control of everything. it is rare and then I truly hate a hero but I definitely hate this guy he’s a di*k and there’s no way around it.

The heroine is a different story I wanted to like her but she’s going through this crisis of discovering who she is … if she’s a submissive or not and unfortunately I think that a dictionary was not used when this book was being created because the heroine is in conflict with losing control or not having control over every aspect of her life. this book is confusing control with independence she’s losing her independence with the hero and her autonomy is slowly slipping away that’s not a relationship that’s just controlling and the way this book is going she will be dependent on him for everything that’s not a relationship it’s just horrible I don’t see how this will get any better how we can move away with the Herro being such a dick and the heroin being a mindless twit.

When your inter relationship trust is huge but the hero constantly tells the heroin that he she needs to trust him but he doesn’t trust her and he’s under the delusion that your past has no effect on your future and she just goes along with like the dumbass that she is One‘s past always has an effect on your future to what extent is the difference and the impact that it has on your relationship unfortunately this hero is just allowing everything that goes on in their relationship to be dictated by him and not giving her any credit I just can’t move on with this book with the arrow being such an absolute dickhead.

A little bit too Dominate for my tastes .

I listened to the first book and though it was dark , I thought the second would get a little more romantic and less Dominant and dark. I find Braeden mean, humiliating and not romantic at all. After the Steele books I thought I would like this series. I guess being too dominant, demeaning, and just plain mean is not my jam. I will finish the next book , as I’ve already Pre ordered it ,and hope that there is something in there that appeals to me.

This book has me captivated!

As my title says this book has truly captivated me! well so far the entire series has, I was gutted when it came to an end and desperate for the next installments which sadly I'm going to have to wait for. More often than not I wait for series to be released in full before I buy them as I like to read all same time but I didn't this time and I slightly regret that. It cannot come soon enough!

Repeat

I was so looking forward to this book of the series. But I was disappointed 😞 It was like listening to the first book.
What's going on Helen Hardt. This book should have been the first book. Gee's they got engaged in the first book.
