Great world. Horrible writing style.
I love the world, but I hate listening to the narrator. Even the way the people speak can be very grating. I bring myself to read this with great difficulty just so that I can learn more of the wonderful world Brust has crafted.

Unparalleled in performance -
I've read scores of fantasy novels since my youth, but Brust's works are the only ones I consistently return to. His ability to create & balance an entire Empire's history is astounding. The narrator's performance was spot on. Pitch, timing, cadence, and dozens of excellent voices were all there. I've always been a Taltos fan, and I'm overly pleased to have found the Dragaera series on audiobook -
