Publisher's Summary

The best days of your life might be still to come....

When 73-year-old Jen announces that she is going to marry Eddie, a man she met just a few months previously on a beach on Boxing Day, her four best friends from aqua aerobics are flabbergasted.

The wedding is booked and, when the groom decides to have a stag trip to Las Vegas, the ladies arrange a hen party to beat all others - a week in the city of love, Paris.

From misadventures at the Louvre and outrageous Parisian cabarets to drinking champagne with a dashing millionaire at the casino, Paris lives up to all their hopes and dreams. But a week can change everything, and the women that come home have very different dreams from the ones who got on the plane just days ago.

Funny, fearless and with a joie de vivre that reminds you to live every day like it’s your last. Judy Leigh has once again written the perfect feel-good novel for all fans of Cathy Hopkins, Dawn French and Fiona Gibson.

Crude story of several friends adventures.

I did not like the crudeness of the story, but did enjoy the performance. I wasn't expecting a Christian story, but I also was not expecting how base it would be. So it was okay story with good narration, but I probably won't listen to any more by this author.

Fun for older chicks aka hens

This is my second book I read by this author. It's great to see the world through the perspective of these older women characters. Since I'm in my sixties, I prefer these stories to those about girls much younger. Lots of humor as well as insight. Great character development.
The narration is excellent.

Can’t say enough good things about this book! The story is uplifting with a great message…..the reading is delightful……I’m in love with this author! This is the second book I’ve listened to of hers…..and I’m going to listen to them all. It’s wonderful to read great stories about women (and men) in my age group. FANTASTIC!

Fun read!

It was fun to get to know these five women and I was sorry when I came to the end of the book. I’d love to read more about them and the outcome of their decisions.

Different from my usual read

It’s not the type of book I usually read, but I liked it. It showed that older women want to live, love, and have fun the same as younger women. I would recommend it.

Another uplifting read from Judy Leigh

A story about real friendship and not settling for second best. I love the way Judy’s mature characters still see that live is for living at any age, an uplifting read!

Amusing, feel good story

Being a fan of the narrator, Annie Aldington, this book made a pleasant change to her usual narratives of gangland London. A tale of five recently acquainted ladies on a journey of group and self discovery to Paris. A pleasant, amusing, feel good story.

Very very slow, predictable, dull

I gave up at the point that a woman stood stalking to her dog in a forest about the very first world considerations of where the dog could stay during an upcoming holiday period. Dear oh dear

Easy listen, fun and heartwarming

Nicely narrated although I giggled at the French accent and pronunciation. It was a sweet, if slightly predictable story, but I certainly don't regret having listened.

Just a delight

As I listened to this book I couldn't keep the smile off my face with the occasional spontaneous giggle. The antics of 5 70yr old women seems like a boring topic but it most certainly was not.

Great narration and believable character driven story.
