Publisher's Summary

Fisher,

I guess this is it, huh? After 14 years together, starting a life of our own on this island, five deployments, and countless letters I've written you through it all, I finally go out to the mailbox and see something I've always dreamed of: an envelope with your handwriting on it. For one moment, I actually thought you'd changed your mind, that all the awful things you said to me were just your way of coping after everything you'd been through. I was still here, Fisher. I was still here, holding my breath, waiting for you to come back even though you told me you never would. You always said you'd find your way back to me. Out of all the lies you've told me, this one hurts the most. Enclosed you will find the signed divorce papers, as requested. I hope you find what you're looking for. I'm sorry it wasn't me.

Lucy

To get the ending they want, Lucy and Fisher will have to go back to the beginning. Through the good and the bad, they'll be reminded of why they always made their way back to each other, and why this time, one way or another, it will be the last time.

This is not a drill- the author, narrators, and story are a "listen to me now"!!

Seriously guys- this journey, narrated by the wonderful Andi Arndt and smoldering Zachary Webber, should not be passed upon. I'm so very, very glad I took a shot on this book even though I wasn't loving the cover and the blurb didn't exactly reach out to me. It was absolutely fantastic. The journey of Fisher and Lucy was heart wrenching and heart warming. It was sweet, it was harsh, -ugh- just everything!!! I am doing a re-listen already but wish I could experience it for the first time again.
Please be advised that Fisher does experience flashbacks from his time in the service as a PTSD victim, but I do not foresee any stressors for anyone. There is no violence against the heroine.

Absolutely loved every minute. I ended up listening to this book in one sitting. Story was very well written, and Zachery Webber and Andi Arndt, did an amazing job yet again with the narration. I highly recommend this book.

Great story of hope after heartbreak!!!

I enjoyed this book and the way it took on a real life struggle many military families are going through and brought forth something beautiful. Not all families get the happy ending unfortunately but this story gives readers the understanding of how serious PTSD really is. I love how the characters were able to each work through the pain and find their way back to each other. The narrator's were excellent as always. This book is worth a credit guys.

Brilliant writing and narration!

Wow, this poignant second chance romance was so beautifully emotional and sexy! It also included some perfectly place levity, which I so needed at times! This tale was expertly crafted, moving sinuously between present and past scenes that kept me completely captivated from start to finish. I was also fascinated when the same scene was told from different characters pov and how two people can remember the same event so differently. I admired how Ms Sivec portrayed a difficult subject with honesty and empathy and how she made me appreciate what our soldiers and their families go through. I really cared for both Lucy and Fisher and loved how they evolved and grew from the high school sweethearts to the adults they are now. Both narrators skillfully brought the story and characters to life making me feel like I was there with them on the island. I was totally lost in the realism of their storytelling. I loved every minute of this book and can't recommend it highly enough!

Oh the angst

I needed something with some heart and some emotion and this was it. This was IT! The emotion of a return soldier that is broken but doesn't know how to fix himself coupled with a wife that is so devoted and clueless about what her husband needs to move on... it was just emotional from start to finish.

Tara Sivec wrote some amazing secondary characters that I ended up feeling just as much for as I did the primary. The setting of this small island and a failing inn was just perfect for this plot. I loved it so much.

Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber couldn't have been a better choice for narrators. Andi portrayed all the emotion that a wife who felt betrayed perfectly and Zachary's, kind of relaxed, easy going voice was uncharacteristically tormented and pained. He did such a good job.

Most definitely worth a credit.

AMAZING

I first read this book when it was released. When I saw that it was coming to audio, and that Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt were doing the narration, I couldn't wait for an audio reread. They surpassed my already high expectations.

Fisher's Light addresses emotional topics such as PTSD and the relationship struggles after someone returns from war. Both narrators nailed the emotion while telling the story. You don't feel like you're being read to; you can put yourself into that moment, that scene. And while that's a main focus of the story, there is so much more story built around it.

Definitely deserves all the stars!

Fisher and Lucy

Tara Sivec has written a beautiful story surrounding Lucy and Fisher and their struggle to find their new normal. Fisher has returned from active duty and acclimating to civilian life is not easy. With PTSD, he has real issues but his communication skills are negligent and lead to broken dreams for Lucy. Being high school sweethearts and and married young, Lucy doesn't know any different than being with Fisher and doesn't want to. But now forced into new situations, life has to take new turns. Sivec takes us through their journey, from their first meeting to the present, feeling the emotional pull with glimpses into their past and how it effects their future. The beginning of this book was high passion and emotionally charged, but I did find as the story progressed, it lost steam. Their lack of communication being the most frustrating issues, the ending fell a little flat. With that being said though, the story is well written, has great characters, like Fisher's grandfather, Tripp and the narration by Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt is impeccable.

Beautiful

This is a beautiful and at times heartbreaking story. It’s is also one of the most realistic love stories I’ve read in a long time.
I know some people with PTSD and it’s a harsh look, but I love that this is a love conquers all, with hard work, time and patience, story.
Love the narrators, both of them and enjoy all that they put into the books that they read.

I liked it!!

Nicely narrated by Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber

An emotional heartfelt story about a relationship that was meant to last forever, but instead falls apart after the Hero returns home from the military with severe PTSD.

This story is packed full with the makings of an OTT Angsty read…..a tortured alpha Hero, a devoted strong Heroine, OW/OM drama, the good/bad family member and friend, lack of communication between MCs and several disastrous circumstances that has you doubting that the MCs will ever get their HEA….but they do and it’s oh so sweet.
