Fun series!

Narrator does a nice job with her performance; over exuberant at times, but still a good listen. Love that this set has 3 full books from the Fire Maidens series!

Fire Maidens - Portugal

This series is so fun! Love that each book takes place in a different European country! This one takes place in Portugal; which is somewhere I don’t know much about, so it was great to read about it. We get dragon shifters in this one! Laura very recently found out she can shift into a dragon; she knows that there are shifters out there, but she knows very little about shifter society and how to control her dragon. It’s very rare that she ends up being a shifter, but there’s something magical going with her. Since Laura is pretty clueless about all things shifter, she sets out to find someone to help her; which leads her to Portugal and Marco. This book gets right into the action with Laura finding herself in a dangerous situation, but luckily, dragon shifter, Marco, comes to her rescue. He doesn’t want to get roped into helping Laura; he had some issues in the past with deception, but he can’t really help himself. There’s a pull between them. Sweet and hot romance going on! I like that trying to resist scenario. Good connection and passion between Laura and Marco. Love the whole adventure they find themselves on; exciting action! Totally entertaining and fun story with a heartfelt romance! Excited for the next book!

Fire Maidens Ireland

Love the Ireland setting; love the visuals the author created with her words! Love all the dragon and elk shifter fun and action! Loved the backstory of how Finn and Grace first connected; so sweet! Finn, a dragon shifter, and Grace, a non-shifter, were childhood friends, but haven’t seen each other in years. They’ve thought of each other through the years and are now finally back together when Grace and Finn both find themselves back in Ireland. Finn knows right away that Grace is his mate and Grace knows right away that there is a major connection between them, but things aren’t necessarily going to go smoothly.

I’ve loved this whole series so far! This one was a little slow moving for me and I didn’t quite connect with Grace, but the story is still entertaining and lots of fun. I think it may have been Grace’s reaction to certain things that rubbed me the wrong way; felt too ungrateful to me, but I did love the musical aspect to her character. Finn is a total nice guy; loved how supportive he is of Grace. They have a cute and passionate connection. There’s also a cool magical element going on that added some fun whimsy. Really looking forward to the next book in Scotland!

Fire Maidens Scotland

Such a wonderful story!! Loving this series! In this book, dragon shifters Lachlan and Holly have a second chance at love with each other. Lachlan broke Holly’s heart when he chose his military duties over love because he’d been raised to think only of family duty. Now, 10 years later, they find themselves back together on a bit of a quest. A road trip of sorts around Scotland at the request of a deceased friend; this was all a very touching part of the story. Loved the premise for this one; the Scotland setting was so cool. Unfortunately, there’s dangers along the way. Some awesome action going on! Excellent chemistry between Holly and Lachlan; passionate and sweet. Love Holly’s outlook on life; her stop and smell the roses attitude; such a peaceful feeling when she engages her different senses to enjoy the things around her. Lachlan made bad choices in the past, but I still loved him. He’s a total sweetheart! This whole story was just so heart touching. Super excited for the next book!

DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING

STRONG WOMEN AND CLEVER DRAGONS.
Action packed and romantic, this story is sure to satisfy. I recommend reading/listening to this page turner in series order but it is not necessary if you don't want. Always a happy ending and beautifully narrated.
RECOMMENDED GREAT SERIES
I found this book to be rich, fulfilling and delightfully entertaining in only a way this author can do. Technically you can read each happy ending book on its own but l recommend you really must start at the first book of the series to experience the full community, love and antics that the characters portray as they overlap into each others stories. Love and sex scenes included so for mature readers only.
TRULY BEAUTIFUL
l finished this book with a deep sigh, It was truly a beautiful love story.
It has adventure, sorrow , love and it was so heartwarming and satisfying. I think l fell in love with Scotland, the home of my ancestors too, which made it all the more touching. Beautifully narrated.
HEARTILY RECOMMENDED.

Wonderful Box Set

Anyone who reads my reviews will know how much I love Anna Lowe's books but I especially love them once the wonderful Kelsey Osborne has added her magic touch to the audio.

Fire Maidens Portugal - This book about Laura and Marco was one I particularly loved. Laura Sampaio always knew her family descended from dragon shifters, but no one had shifted in so long that they all assumed that power was lost. That is until she inherited a ruby necklace from her great aunt and found herself shifting into a dragon! Her life will never be the same, she decides to go to Lisbon and seek the help of the Guardians there as her family originally came from Portugal.

Marco da Silva, whom we met previously when he helped Sergio and Lena in Rome, is the heir to an ancient dragon dynasty, but he’s determined not to take his father's seat as one of the Guardians believing that power and respect should be earned not inherited.

Whilst Laura is waiting for the Guardians to answer her plea for help she finds herself being pursued by a vampire and a dragon through the streets of Lisbon. Her one chance to escape is to take flight, but she is so new to flying will she be able to do it? Just when she thinks everything will be lost and she will be caught by the dragon pursuing her another dragon arrives on the scene and chases her pursuer away. He's, gruff and distant but he offers her refuge, he takes her home to his vila and begrudgingly offers her assistance.

Marco may want to keep himself to himself and stay away from women but when his dragon wakes him late one night and tells him that Laura is in danger, he has no choice but to help her. He defeats the dragon pursuing her and as she has nowhere safe to go he takes her home.

After another attempt to capture Laura by the vampire, the only way for him to keep her safe is to take her to Madera, but the only way they can get there is by flying and not in a plane! He has only done that marathon flight once will a novice like Laura be able to make it?

Once on Maderia the danger level increases, Marco begins to teach Laura all she will need to know, will they be able to get help from Madera's Guardians? But the danger has only increased and powerful enemies are on the move, enemies who will stop at nothing to seize Laura and use her power as a stepping stone to obtaining control of the entire continent.

But by this time Laura and Marco have realised that they are mates and are determined to defeat their enemies and be together. Their love story is action-packed and yet at times sweet, but this is a love story between dragons so there is lots of heat, from a dragon kiss to a dragon bond. I loved it, thank you, Anna and Kelsy you make such a wonderful team.

Fire Maidens Ireland - I read this book not long ago and enjoyed it immensely, as I have the whole series, but as soon as the audio became available I couldn't wait to listen to this wonderful story. In this Fire Maidens story, Finn and Grace met once as children when her father came from America to connect with his roots. Their friendship was instant and strong, they bonded over a near-fatal accident which they agreed to keep secret from their parents. Unfortunately, their friendship never got a chance to develop further as she went back to the US almost as soon as they had met.

When Grace's great-uncle died he left her his cottage on the outskirts of the village of Ballyfianna. She returned to Ireland to try and find a tenant for the property, a traditional cottage close to the ruins of Ballyfianna Castle. Almost as soon as arrived she was drawn to the castle grounds as she walks she thinks about the time she and Finn spent there as children and their shared relief that disaster was avoided that day. Over the years she has thought about Finn often, wondering if he ever thought of her. Fantasizing about the two of them together at whatever age she was at the time!

Finn, a dragon shifter, has known for years that Grace is his mate and vowed that one day he would search for her. Life choices lead him to enlist in the French Foreign Legion but after ten years his term of duty is over and he's back for a quick visit to catch up with his family. Some of his friends from the Legion have met their mates and settled down, he even helped Marco keep his mate safe in Portugal. Is now the time to search for his mate, Grace, the human girl he met so long ago?

The Guardians in Ireland are different from the Guardians we have met before, they are more laid back. His brother-in-law Eamonn, a giant elk shifter is the leader of the Irish Guardians, Finn's dragon shifter family has a longstanding alliance with the Elk clan and several of his relatives are also Guardians including his sister. Eamonn has asked Finn to stay awhile because of some troubles with the Teague wolf pack and the ever-present threat of the Lombardis

Finn takes a walk to the old castle ruins where sees a woman too close to the edge of the cliff in the exact spot Grace almost fell to her death, alas his shouts to warn the woman startle her causing her to nearly fall, when he goes to check on her he realises that it's his Grace!

Grace is a musician, she knows nothing of the shifter world of magic, but she's about to get a rude awakening when she is again in danger and Finn has to show his true self to save her. Just as she's trying to come to terms with the fact that shifters exist she has to face the biggest challenge of her life when she learns that she possesses magic! But will this be enough to save herself, to save the shifters of Ballyfianna? Will the magic of Ireland work to convince her to follow her heart? Will destiny show the girl from Boston and the boy from Ireland that home is wherever they are so long as they are together?

The narration of this book, indeed all the books in this series, is by the wonderfully talented Kelsey Osborne, she does such a great job of bringing the characters to life and making Anna's descriptions of the majestic Irish scenery even more vivid!

Fire Maidens Scotland - I loved Lachlan's story! It's different from the earlier books in this series because he and Holly already know each other having met ten years ago. They are both dragon shifters who are now getting a second chance to be together. The last time they were together they had one incredible night together but Lachlan chose his military duties over his love for Holly and broke her heart in the process. Ten years have passed and now they are in each other's company again on a journey around Scotland to fulfil the last request of a deceased friend, Trevor Holly's mentor.

There is so much going on in this story, as you would expect from Anna Lowe if you read or listened to Fire Maidens Ireland you will remember that a dangerous enemy was captured. He was then imprisoned on a private Scottish Island being guarded by a mixed team of shifters which means we can again meet up with characters from previous books.

Whilst Holly and Lachlan strive to fulfil Trevor's final requests they are forced to spend time together which gives them another chance to accept their destiny.

I'm not going to tell you any more because of spoilers, the story is far too go to spoil. If you haven't listened to or read the earlier books you could still enjoy this one but I would recommend that you listen to the books in order to get the most enjoyment from them.

I received this audio box set as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review which contains only my personal opinions.

Fire Maidens: Volume 2

Fire Maidens: Portugal - Lots of "Edge of Your Seat" Action & Romance
This is another great addition to the Billionaires and Bodyguards series. Laura has the ruby and is wearing it around her neck. She knows nothing about a Fire Maiden. Marco lived between his two homes – one in Lisbon and the other in Madiera. Marco was in Lisbon when he sensed Laura’s fear and went out to investigate. He rescued her while she is being chased by baddies. She is not used to shifting into her dragon form so she is very clumsy. It is so funny when they arrive at Marco’s home in their escape from the baddies and she has a hard time landing. I could just picture the landing. LOL.

Olivia, a biotch, broke Marco’s heart about 10 years ago when she left him. He doesn’t want to open his heart again even though he feels something for Laura. She stays at Marco’s house. When he had to go out, Laura stupidly left Marco’s house to meet with Tito, who turns out to be a real bad @ss. Laura calls for help and Fin arrives before she meets with him to distracts him and his goons so Laura can hide until Marco arrives. There was a lot of “edge of your seat” action when Marco and Laura tried to escape them. Shortly after they arrive at Marco’s house, the baddies are there wanting Laura. Laura and Marco shift and take a marathon flight hundreds of miles away to the island of Madeira where Marco has another home and staff. A lot happens when they are on Madeira and a lot of action takes place.

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. I love the fact that during all of the action scenes, Marco, is slowly falling in love with Laura. Marco was hurt by Olivia, who was his fiancée, when she left him and she turns out to be a real bad@ss too. I love how Laura gained confidence and took care of Olivia. I love Fin’s role in this book. He is awesome and I am rooting for him to find his mate.

Fire Maidens: Ireland - Grace and Finn
Another great addition to the series! Finn was absolutely awesome in Fire Maidens: Portugal so I am so glad his story is available. Finn and Grace, who is a musician and mixed heritage (which I loved), reunite in Ireland after not seeing each other since they were children. Finn saved her from what could have been a bad accident. Now years later, the same thing happens and they recognize each other. Grace is in Ireland because she inherits a cottage from her uncle just outside of Ballyfianna. Finn is there with his family (he was in Portugal with his friend Marco in the previous book). He was previously in the French Foreign Legion.

Grace and Finn go on a date but end up helping out at the pub when it gets too busy for Annabel to handle by herself. In the pub, there is a magical harp that calls to her. A few days later, Grace wonders on to Reuben’s property. Reuben catches her and argues with her. She steps back too far and tumbles over the cliff. Finn sees this and is forced to shift in order to save her. He hadn’t told her that he was a shifter so this is the first time she knows of it and she panics. It frightened her so much that she was going to run back to the States but decided against it.

Then Finn’s nephew goes missing. The child wondered off and a search party is looking for him. Grace’s necklace led them to the child who was down in a well. The necklace also lit the way so Finn is able to rescue him and get himself back to the surface. It was so rainy that night that Grace invites Finn back to her home to dry off and warm up and things start to heat up.

A lot happens to Grace and Finn before they eventually get their happily ever after. There was also lots of suspense. Ms. Lowe writes great “edge of your seat” as well as romance scenes. Finn was awesome in this book too. He was so patient with Grace. After Finn and Grace spend the night together and Finn leaves, Grace drives out to follow a rainbow. She ends up in the middle of trouble. Of course, Enzo Lombardi is his usual villainous self along with his goons. That man is nothing but trouble!

The Fire Maidens: Billionaires & Bodyguards is a great series and should not be missed! Each book is about a different couple and Fire Maiden but they tie in together. I love how in the book, you meet the hero for the next book. Also, the covers for these books are great!

Fire Maidens: Scotland – Holly and Lachlan
This was a great second chance romance! While listening to this book, I could not believe how quickly the time flew by because I was really into the story. Holly and Lachlan had a past and knew they were mates. Lachlan left for 10 years for duty (he was in the French Foreign Legion) and had plans for his life including becoming a Guardian. They meet again at the reading of Trevor’s (Holly’s mentor and Lachlan’s Godfather) will. When Holly (kind and free spirited) arrived late, she had diarrhea of the mouth explaining why she was late. It was so funny! Trevor wanted her to scatter his ashes in a couple of different places. Because of this, Lachlan, who was extremely focused and straight-laced, would accompany Holly. The rest of the will would not be read until she completed this task. Natasha was a real b!tch since she was Trevor’s only blood relative, she thought would get almost everything. This starts an adventure for Holly and Lachlan. They had a wonderful adventure together that eventually led to danger, suspense, romance, and a few surprises. There were a few villains from previous books. The female villain is especially nasty and I would not be surprised if we see more of her. I could just picture some of the beautiful scenery in this book. I like how Tony was introduced and I hope he finds love in his own book. He seems like a sharp one with his Armani suit and nice vehicle. Trevor’s dog, a deerhound, was also a nice addition and I love how Holly talked to him. This book had a beautiful ending. Kelsey Osborne did her usual great job with the narration. To me, she is definitely the voice of the series. I would highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. You will not be disappointed.

Kelsey Osborne did a great job with the narration - both male and female voices.

Recent re-listen

I recently relistened to these 3 books and my original thoughts still stand.

Book 4: Portugal
New Favorite 💖💖💖
Oh, my goodness! I loved this book. Laura was a rockstar! I loved everything about her. Her spirit! Her tenaciousness! Her wit! Marco was a gem as well. The narration was great as well. Looking forward to the next book!

Book 5: Ireland
Another Favorite 💖💖💖
I keep saying that each book is a favorite, but it's true. Each location and couple is more fun than the previous. I was looking forward to this book and wasn't disappointed at all. It kept me engaged all day. I'm looking forward to the next installment. Ms. Osborne's performance has completely improved with each book and I look forward to listening to her.

I love Grace and her moxie! She was such a lovely and lively character. I loved that she was biracial and how it played into the story. Finn was adorable! Loved how he interacted with his nephews. His family was fabulous as well. I absolutely loved how the richness of family relationships played into this particular story. It's been a theme in all of Ms. Lowe's books, but this one just seemed to tip the scales a bit more for me.

Book 6: Scotland
Fabulous Story! ❤️❤️❤️
Once again, I'm in love with the story created by Ms. Lowe. It has love, danger, dragon shifters, and Scotland. What else is needed? Lachlan and Holly were a lovely match. I enjoyed how they reconnected after being separated for so long. I love how Trevor's last request was integral to their reconnecting, not just in location, but in their hearts. Their love for him and his love for them was beautiful.

Narration was on point as usual.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of the boxset. I also purchased the individual versions in audiobook & Kindle
