Publisher's Summary

Movie star Jessica Lambert is in danger of burning out. Returning to London for the premiere of her latest film, she's recognized everywhere she goes. When she runs away through the streets of London, she's taken in by the beautiful and more mature Anna. The two hide in the sanctuary of Anna's roof-top flat, a haven away from the crowds, but why has Anna removed herself from the world?

As the two women get to know each other, stripping away the layers, both appreciate what each does for the other. This could be the start of something wonderful, more than either of them know.

Contains mature themes.

An Actual Adult Novel

OMG a actual adult writing with adult conversations and a great narrator who speaks in normal adult tones.
I was very surprised at how well this story is written. There’s a lot comedic lines and of course there’s some personal trauma too but everything was very well described and developed.

The descriptions of the pressures that famous people are under from constant media postings and the fact they cannot just go out in public without being mobbed by fans and constant photography gave me more respect for what some of our more popular actors go through on s daily basis.

It’s a long story but I never got bored and I liked that there was not s sudden ending. The story was described in a very vivid way that didn’t leave you confused.

I can’t imagine anyone who would not enjoy this well written book. Definitely worth a credit!

So Deliciously Soft

I absolutely loved this book. It was well written and narrated. I think this was my first Clare Ashton and my first time having the privilege of listening to a Gabrielle Baker narration. This book was low angst hi on all the feels and so very passionate. This book is so deliciously soft you will hate that it has to end. It’s a beautiful story of how love heals and how sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone can be super helpful to someone in need….and it could possibly lead to a wonderful relationship😉

spectacularly written 🫶🏽

I had this in my library for a while, but wanted to really dedicate my ears to this book and it was so worth the waiting. Is a sweet, beautiful story that will stick to your heart for long. The type of books that will come to your mind for no apparent reason, but for the love shared. spectacularly written , you feel the feelings.

Love this book

What a nice, sweet love story. I loved the whispering wall part. I read all the reviews and agree I with most all of them.
Clare Ashton is a terrific writer. I’m all kinds of impressed, regardless of the story. This story is a good one to boot.
Definitely worth the credit!!

A story well told

I love books that become my friends and I can listen to more than once - this book is now an old friend.
It is the story if Jessica a film star and Anna who was a famous West End actress. Both are living with the pressure and end results of their fame. I related to the characters who were contantly fighting there own demons and finding ways to get on with their lives. It is nice to see a main chatacter who is Autistic written as real functioning person whose brain just has different wiring. The setting of London alway pleases me and I could visualize where they were walking in the parks and along the canals.

It is nice to make new friends :)

okay

What is it with these women about their Mothers? Seems like a lot of lesbian authors and
their mothers. I wish they make a book that tells their mother hey I am an adult a strong
one at that and if you don't like it I don't want to see you anymore. Why put yourself through
all that pain? There is no love greater than yourself but God. Somebody please write a book
on it. Seems like to me their mother doesn't like them. So why make the time?

Clare Ashton is Brilliant!

I’ve read and adored everything written by Clare Ashton. I read this book twice before buying the audiobook. It is such a wonderful story with characters you can’t help but fall in love with.
My only disappointment is that the narrator didn’t do it for me. There is something about her voice and I don’t know exactly what. I guess I feel that she read it more than she performed it and wasn’t as sensual as how I interpreted it when reading the book.
Please don’t let this prevent you from listening because the book is really that good.

Excellent

I don’t often give five stars to a book or leave a review, but I felt this was necessary in the case of “Finding Jessica Lambert”.

I loved the well-rounded, likeable, but flawed characters (Penny a particular favourite), which were brought to life fantastically by the narration. I’ve listened to a few books read by Gabrielle Baker and this is the first time I have been truly wowed by her performance and lost in the characters and the story, thanks to the great material Clare Ashton has written.

All in all, an excellent listen and I will look out for more audiobooks written by Clare Ashton in the future.

Wow

This audio is bloody fantastic. What a story. It’s so well written and the anxiety and journey Jess and Anna go on is just beautiful. The narrator did a fabulous job and bringing the characters to life. If you love age gap romances you will love this. The dynamic between the MCs is gorgeous and their chemistry is off the charts. The supporting cast is entertaining and funny especially Penny. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it

Beautiful, tender, captivating and well narrated

It is not very often that I enjoy an audiobook as much as I enjoyed this one. I feel sad to have reached the end and to say goodbye to the characters and their lives.

Clare Ashton has taken great care writing this novel; no corners are cut here. The story arc of this engaging story beautifully details the development of a relationship between two introspective women and never veers off course with unnecessary padding. There are some lovely descriptive passagees that bring insight to the well developed and sympathetic characters and add to the overall tenderness of their story.

Gabrielle Baker does a fantastic job narrating the story. She manages, convincingly, to convey a variety of British accents, all the while getting across the essence of the various characters, their emotional states and the tone of the story.

A moving story. Engaging MC's trying to find their way through differing difficulties in their lives. All's well in the end.
Super narration bringing all the characters to life and giving them quite distinct voices.
