More About the Springer Show

This was a podcast about Jerry Springer and his long running show. It focuses more on the show and its effects with a bio of Jerry himself. I’ve always liked Jerry, he was an interesting person. His show was theater, it evolved into entertainment for the masses with him as ringleader. He was at times a journalist, a politician, which is where his heart truly lay. I was sorry to hear of his passing. This was an interesting and informative podcast.

"Not Selling Out But Settling In"

I just finished Final Thoughts and am stunned. Being a clinical social worker (here we go, Jerry Springer said I'll be judged by what I do), I could probably analyze what happened to Springer and make a darned good theory of it - but that would ruin the story. The pain of the tragedy, the puzzlement at Springer's decisions, the concern for the American and global civilizations ... all of it would have been lost had I dwelled upon a psychoanalysis. Most of all, I would have lost what Springer's story means to me, which is still to come. There is so much to process, it will take me some time to figure this one out. I would encourage listeners to think about who ultimately benefitted from Springer's decisions and their contributions to an environment in which stories about Springer, the show runners and producers, show participants and audience, political parties and their faithfuls, Springer's friends and family, and us listeners were made possible. What are the invisible forces at work that haunt our lives?

Well told, good production and a nice mix of clips. Was never a fan of the guy but it is an interesting story.

Really well done about Jerry Springer and his core values. When you strip down everything about Jerry he remains a decent, good man.

I’m conservative politically but would probably have voted for Jerry because he definitely was for the working man. Unlike the Democrats now which have proven themselves as charlatans and interested in self interests.

It makes me sad that he called Mr. Trump a racist. The NAACP and black colleges sure didn’t rerun his millions of dollars back in protest.

I tend to think Jerry and Mr. Trump could have accomplished much together!

… so much about the protagonist and his family’s history. Interesting undoubtedly. And included in the membership

already knew much of this but in the context of trump....mind blown.

Having gone to school in the Midwest, I knew the story of Jerry Springer and his hidden talent as a canny politician and also as a pretty good guy--attested to by my boyfriend in college who caddied for Mr Springer. But I never thought about any of this in the context of how virtue signaling brought down the democratic party. He could have been a Trump candidate who left the world a better place, but us dems were too sanctimonious to ever allow that to happen. For anyone who wants to condemn Springer for his show--breads and circuses. If he hadn't done it, someone else would have. Maybe at least now we can acknowledge that understanding how to work the media is a feature, not a bug of the successful candidate.
