Publisher's summary

val·or: great bravery in the face of danger, especially in battle.

Once, Jackson Richards had it in spades. As a member of the United States Special Forces, he fought alongside the bravest and most capable men he’d ever known. Then one mistake landed them all in hell.

For six months, he fought. But one terrible day, his captors learned the full extent of his skills, and that sealed his fate.

Tortured and broken in conditions that made hell look like a five-star resort, Jackson Richards died, and Isaad was born. Shaped into a weapon for the wrong side, he’d forgotten who he once was. Who he was meant to be. Until the day his captor imprisoned Joey Taylor.

Helping Joey and her marine escape reminded Jackson of the man he used to be. And now, he’ll fight. For himself. For the friends he thought he lost in hell. And for Cara. The woman with a secret he can’t ignore.

If he’s strong enough, he’ll leave Isaad behind. Maybe, then, he can take back his true name.

Ripper.

Warning: This book contains scenes of torture and implied sexual violence that may be disturbing to sensitive listeners.

Two Troubled Hearts Finding there Way!

I love this series! It just keeps getting better and better. This book did not disappoint. Ripper and Cara story was a page turner for sure and heartbreaking at the same time. I was invested through the whole book. While you can read it as a stand alone it does make it more enjoyable to dive right through the whole series. The narration is one point as well.

An emotional journey brought to life.

Aiden Snow as Ripper (and Ryker, and Dax) and Grace Grant as Cara truly brought this emotional journey to life.

I've read and loved this book several times, and it's so much more than Ripper's story - it's a story of the healing that he, Ry and Dax find in truly saving one another. Never backing down from the heartache. Finding beauty in what's broken.

These two narrators capture every moment of the suspense that Patricia Eddy writes so well, and I'd highly recommend letting yourself escape, not only into this book, but into the series as a whole. The steam, the action, and the love - within couples, yes, but within this tight-knit family of special forces and tech geniuses - is so uplifting and enchanting that you'll want to get lost time and time again.

Exciting thriller with beautiful characters!

Fighting for Valor is book 6 in the Away from Keyboard series. It can be read alone or with the series. I LOVE this series, so I highly recommend reading them all! Patricia Eddy is a 1-click Author for me. In this story Jackson has some major past trauma, having been held captive in Afghanistan for 6 months before disappearing 6 years ago. The amount of physical and mental trauma and anguish on top of memory loss and major damage from surviving the years of torture. Following his rescue he struggles to function in society. Cara is on the run and has been living on the edge of physical endurance and sanity. They are understandably drawn together but slow to trust. They fit like a glove and together they are amazing! Patricia Eddy has quite brilliantly brought these characters to life and given them a voice, a journey, and a love story with a happy ending. Just wow! Patricia’s devotion to audio and quality performers is once again evident in this book. Aiden Snow and Grace Grant deliver wonderful performances in this thrilling story and I’m all in!!

Bravo!!💜

Another amazing story in this series by Patricia Eddy. I love her writing style and the fact that no matter how broken, both mentally and physically her characters are, they are also fearless and strong even if they don’t believe in themselves at times. This story will have you on the edge of your seat. It will bring out all the emotions, angst, sadness, pride, love & hatred.
The narration is absolutely perfect!! Aiden Snow & Grace Grant are nailing these characters.
This is book 6 in this series but has an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book!

Love this series

I genuinely cannot get enough of this series. Patricia D Eddy is a master of romantic suspense and I crave these characters. This one has to be close to the top for me(Dax is still my favorite). Ripper is left behind in Afghanastan, unbeknownst to his squad. Now 6 years later, they bring him home, ghosts apparent and broken. His best friends do their best to pull him back, but the friendliness of a woman who thinks he is homeless is the one that helps the most. Cara is in hiding. Overhearing information that can get her killed, she is running for her life. Befriending the homeless man can't hurt, can it? What she finds is so much more. This story is incredibly moving. It's heart wrenching and the details Eddy provides us are gruesome. But unfortunately, it's more realistic than we would like. Her writing bringing this to forward is enlightening. From corruption to love, we live, learn and heal. The characters are our friends, from book to book and truly bring that sense of family. And the addition of Charlie just melted my heart. A better dog could not have been found. This is a fantastic addition to this series and I am ready to pull down the next in the series, Call Sign:Redemption.

The narration continues to be impeccable. I have to compliment both Aiden Snow and Grace Grant. Snow provides a broken, tortured soul for Ripper, and his performance fits the character. Grant finds the perfect balance of strong and confident with scared and vulnerable. She makes Cara! These two are an amazing team.

The entire Series is AMAZING!

Fighting for Valor is the sixth book in the Away From Keyboard Series, a Military Romance. I love this Series so much. You can read this story as a standalone, but believe me, you don't want to miss one book in this Series. I would love to have the words to express how I love this story/Series, and convince you to listen to it.

This emotional story is beautifully written. My heart broke to pieces for Ripper and Cara. Ripper is an amazing character, damaged, but strong, protective and caring. Cara is a beautiful character, also damaged, but strong, supportive, resourceful, and caring. The storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. I love the ending. It was amazing to see the previous characters in the Series together, with Ripper and Cara. They share a precious and wonderful brotherhood. They truly are a family. Charlie, the German Shepherd, is an amazing addition to this beautiful family.

Aiden Snow and Grace Grant did an outstanding job with the narration. Aiden Snow's performance is absolutely breathtaking as Ripper.

I HIGHLY recommend this audiobook, and the entire Series. If you like Military Romance or Romantic Suspense, this Series if for you!

God I love this series!

I’m on my third run through in 5 months. These guys… dang man. The beautifully broken theme in this series hits you right in the feels every time. I have laughed and cried with them. I have yelled at them when they are being dumb. Even on the third run through parts of these books give me chills they are so good. I’ve never seen PTSD written quite like this and it is absolutely phenomenal.
