Publisher's summary

Micky Ferro has lived her entire life according to other people's expectations. She married a man, had two children, and became a dutiful stay-at-home mom in suburban Sydney. Until she realized, with a little help from her best friend, that her picture-perfect life wasn't making her happy.

On the first anniversary of her divorce, Micky decides it's time for the next step in her journey and gets a job at her neighborhood coffee shop, The Pink Bean. Becoming a barista sparks a big change in Micky's daily routine, but could loud-spoken American customer Robin do the same for her love life? Contains mature themes.

Great narration

after listening to hundreds of books and enjoy lesbian literature, I learned to appreciate a good narrator. No matter how good a book is, a narrator can give you either a good experience or disappointing one. In this occasion I think the narration added value to the story and elevated it.

Great book.

This was a really good middle age coming out story. It delt with real life issues. it delt with how hard it can be to have a sexual friends only relationship. It had a really good mix of sub characters. The Author did well keeping me engaged and interested. The flow of the story was really smooth.
The nartation was better than I expected. Me being an Abby Craden Fan Girl.
I have to say the only thing I didn't like was ...
The sudden ending , and the short time robin had with the kids.
other than that I loved it.
you have to read it for yourself, it's worth it.

Simple toward simplistic

Late in life coming out out story. Sweet but nothing to it. I’m not sure how they have built a whole series on this.

Great story

I remember my coming out and the worry and struggles I had. I found myself excited for these woman and actually cried too. The humor was entertaining and kind of took some of the edge off some of the intensity ar times. I would have liked to have seen a bit more depth given to the women who owned the coffee shop. maybe next time. Excellent as a audio book. Narrator could read to me anytime. loved it.

terrible. don't bother

I don't know why I continue to try books by this author. I thought an audio version might be better than reading the print version. No such luck. Bad verbiage. Scenes that are partially nonsensical, and overly repetitive lines.

An okay part of a story

This section of the storyline is just okay. I'm less invested in the characters than for for average novel, as there is not much plot or diversity. It's about some middle-aged White ladies of upper-middle privilege discovering what they want romantically. I'll need to decide if I want to return to this series, as so far, my hopes for it getting more interesting are not high.

Love

Many similarities to my own story! I love that Micky had such wonderful support from her family and friends!

Not particularly memorable

Fantastic narration by Angela Dawe, but unfortunately a predictable unremarkable plot and forgettable characters.

Wonderful story

Loved the confusion and emotions throughout. i think I wanted an Australian narrator coupled with an American one…

No Strings Attached

Well this was an enjoyable story about a divorced mom who is discovering her attraction to women after a long marriage.
The story flowed along nicely. It almost seems like it was page after page of some very detail sexual encounters. I was surprised at how much sexual activity there was. It wasn’t too much just more than usual. I liked it and I would recommend it.

The narration was of course spot on.
