great storytelling, enjoyed narration, enjoyable listen, I love civil war history and this book delivers

Good story, but the sex scene were too frequent

The story itself was interesting but I did find myself skipping forward through the sex scenes. It’s not that they’re not well written, it’s just that they’re so long and so often you want to get back to the story. The performance was good other than the main guy is Scottish and there’s not even an attempt to sound Scottish so it’s hard to picture him.

An extraordinary tale

Elle Burns is now one of my favorite heroines. I can't wait for the follow up in Alyssa Cole's Loyalty League series!

Unexpected Saucy

The storyline was good with historicalr references. The forbidden romance and intimate scenes, pleasantly pleasing, downright saucy.

I was sure at first..

I ended up getting emotionally attached to the characters way quicker than I realized. Intriguing storyline with some interesting twists. I’ll admit it, I did cry. It was well-written, non repetitive, and well rounded.
