Publisher's Summary

Giovanni Romero had been dealt his fair share of heartbreak throughout his 30 years, including losing his beloved parents in a horrible car accident. After suffering yet another devastating loss, he decided to chase his dream of opening his own restaurant and was soon the proud owner of Romero’s, a hugely successful and critically acclaimed Italian restaurant, nestled in the heart of Chicago.

Knowing that one more blow to his heart could destroy him, Giovanni had built walls up around his heart to protect himself. He had created strict rules for himself about the men he slept with, which included never exchanging names and absolutely no repeat performances. That was until he met a young man whom he found impossible to forget.

After spending the last few years traveling throughout Europe and the Mediterranean, working as an apprentice to some of the world’s top chefs, 23-year-old Caleb Greene was finally moving back home. While he had enjoyed his studies, he couldn’t wait to reunite with his big, crazy, loving family, especially his twin brother, Carter. Most importantly, he hoped to finally begin his career working as the head chef for Chicago’s most prestigious Italian restaurant, Romero’s.

After a night of celebration with Carter, Caleb finds himself in a rare position, going home with a tall, dark, and sexy stranger. Caleb had never had a one-night stand before, but there was something about the man that drew him in. Unfortunately, the man insisted they could be together for only one night.

Unable to get the intriguing young man off his mind, but resolved to let him go, Giovanni was shocked to find that Caleb had been hired as his new head chef. Working in such close proximity to each other, could he keep his carefully erected walls in place and protect his heart, or would Caleb have the strength to tear those walls down, setting Giovanni free?

Sexy and sweet story...amazing narration.

A story of love strong enough to break through walls complete with sexy men, steamy scenes, tender moments and a happy ending...Just my kind of story. And with the Michael Pauley for narrator, this tale of love went from good to great. That man knows how to tell a read a story! Hope the rest of this series comes to audible soon and they keep him on as narrator.

Ugh

If you're looking for sex and a formalitive story line this book is for you. It seems every chapter begins and end with sex, so much so it becomes monotonous. Weak story line thrown in between sex scenes. I actually started fast forwarding through the sex scenes. Boy meets boy in a bar for one night stand, finds out he works for the anonymous hook up. Falls in love, someone from the past shows up. They breakup and get back together. Same old same old, couldn't get invested in either mc. I found both mc unsympathetic.

More!!!

I always enjoy when Michael Pauley narrates a story and, once again, he had me hooked on the storyline. Having read Feeding The Soul I felt that Pauley brought the characters, their emotions and their personalities to life. Hip and Caleb are soulmate, neither was out looking for love but it found them. Their interactions are real and we get introduced to Greene family. all I can say is, I hope Pauley and Michael's hook up for the next book in the series, "Music of the Soul." Please.

SMOKING!

Caleb and Giovanni's story was totally intriguing. These two were meant to be together and Caleb's love was good for Gio's soul. Their love burnt the pages. The narrator's different voices were on point and sexy as all get out. I so highly recommend these two lover's story. You will not be disappointed. ENJOY! 🔥

A Recipe for Love

Sometimes love goes wrong and it leaves behind a festering wound. Gio’s experienced this personally and has yet to heal from the sudden departure of his ex-wife. A few years later, Gio is a successful restaurant owner, but a bitter single man who shies away from love. Caleb, is an ambitious chef who wants to move closer to his family after exploring the world. All it takes is an intense one-nighter to for both Gio and Caleb’s lives to change. Watching these men fall in love and work through their issues felt special and left me with warm, heart melting feelings. The secondary characters were wonderful, and I instantly fell in love with the Green family and their special brand of unconditional love.

Michael Pauley narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job with his performance. The voices for Gio and Caleb were spot on, and very well done. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook.

Overall Rating: 5 Stars. The writing was wonderful and the entire story was just well crafted. There is no denying that this is a romance, and it has that magical feeling that great love stories can invoke.

Worth the listen

I'm positive that listening to this story was a better choice than reading. There were definitely parts that I rolled my eyes at, but I think it would have been worse in print form.

I really liked both MC's a lot. They each had their own backgrounds that were very different and I enjoyed their combined stories. I thought it went on too long. After the breakup/makeup I was surprised to see over 2 hours left of audio. I think there could have just been an epilogue that encompassed the end of the story.

A Good Sweet Story

This was the first book in a new series too me this was also the first time that I have read this author. Giovanni "G" Romero has been through a lot with the death of both his parents in a car accident and with his wife leaving him without a word. With the end of his marriage he decides to follow his dream that he gave up for Julianna and open up a restaurant. Giovanni has given up on relationship only doing one night stands when he meets a guy in a club its one of the best nights of his life but they don't exchange names or numbers. Caleb Greene is a 23 year old chef who studied all over Europe he returns home to be with his family who he missed. I liked both of these MCs when Giovanni meets the new chef that his assistant Lauren hired he is shocked to see that its the guy that he hooked up with he tries to fire Caleb until he taste his cooking. Caleb is a ball of sunshine he makes everyone smile he has only been with one other man. Caleb comes from a large family that is very supportive he has a twin brother who is also gay and his older brother is also gay. As these two begin to work together they begin to become friends and Caleb introduces G to Agape House center that helped LGBTQ teens. When these two hook up again after a miss understanding about Lauren who is also gay. They get hot and heavy and when G mistakes Caleb for his twin he realizes that his feelings are deeper than he thought. When G runs into his ex wife Julianna he gets hurt all over again and he takes it out on Caleb so he leaves. G also confronts Julianna and realize that she left him because she wanted more status and money she was a bitch that I didn't like. This was a really good read that I liked a lot it had some hot sexy scenes it was also warm and even funny at times. This book was well written and I also love the narrator Michael Pauley. I am looking forward to reading and listening to the next book in this series.
