Dark but deep southern crime story
Characters are well developed and complex. Some foreshadowing, but not enough to give away the plot or ending. I loved the story and the narrator. But it can be depressing.

Larry Brown masterpiece
This it's the first Larry Brown novel that I have experienced. shame on me for not being introduced to Larry Brown earlier. this book is one of the best I have ever read. The characters are masterfully written and their personalities come alive with this audio version. The writing style is nearly perfect with brilliant descriptions of both people nature and emotions. I could not recommend a book more highly.

The end of the book
Boring story. I thought the story was depressing too. Very disappointed with it overall. I also disliked the way the narrator made the characters talk like they were dumb southerners.

Good story. great ending.
