Gods, demons, and heroes. Standard MMO fare - or so Cerys Collins thought.
As a long-time gamer and guild leader, Cerys has always wondered what it would be like to live in virtual reality. When her guild members convince her to try a new VRMMO, she discovers reality is far more complex than she knew. Chosen by the gods of another world, Cerys finds herself trapped between warring factions: a tyrannical human empire and an oppressed kingdom of demons.
When she discovers her best friend has been dragged into this new world as well, Cerys is forced to choose between saving her friend or looking at the bigger picture. If Cerys is to be anything more than a pawn in the gods' game, she'll have to leverage everything she's learned on her home world and in past games, before it's too late. With a cocky incubus king vying for more than her loyalty, her quest won’t be an easy one.
The Deck of Souls series contains some dark themes, profanity, violence, and adult relationships.

Amazing!

My big negative that I feel people should know is that the book ends pretty abruptly. I was surprised by it and it is like the author just cut it off rather than any planning.
the narrators were good. there were a few edits that were pretty harsh.
not for me, maybe for you?

Otherwise I really enjoy the book. The sound booth theater gang knocked this out of the park. The story itself is solid, and interesting. Good if sometimes frustrating characters. Not too heavy in the rpg elements of the story so don't come looking for stat dumps or anything, but I'm ok with that. overall I would totally recommend picking it up.
Solid Book

I can't really fully call this a LitRPG. While there are game elements, since this takes place in a real world, some stats that should exist just don't. For example, strength. Not every game has to have a strength attribute... but even if you can't change it other than training, it really seems odd that none of those stats exist. In fact, there is never a summary of stats that gives you an idea of how strong the main characters are.
As long as you know what you're getting into, you should enjoy this book. If you're thinking that this primarily a LitRPG book, you might want to pass.

Like others have said lots of romance ,not much fighting/grinding/game mechanics. Nor is there much justification or explanation for why the world is the way it is. I love all the narrators for this book they did an excellent job.
Romance book with some litrpg
